I'm warming to her.  I'll vote for her in the general election and haven't completely rulled out voting for her in the primary, though, right now I am leaning strongly towards Obama.

I won't rule it out completely, but I can at least say probably not.

Giuliani is the only Republican contender I would consider supporting before Clinton, and I'm not even sure I would do so then. Of course, there's no way I'd support her in the primary (and, given that we'll have two more key local Democratic primaries for Mayor and City Council in 2008, I'll definitely be reregistering as a Democrat).

if she's the Democratic nominee, then yes, without question.

In the primaries, I'll obviously support Gore first, and if he's not in and the MS primary is not contested, then probably Kucinich.

If the MS primary is a hot close race and Gore isn't in, I'll consider it.  I think she probably has a better shot of victory in the general than Obama, and possibly (probably not though) Edwards.

^ True statement, although I think Edwards is far, far, far more electable than Hillary.  Hillary is, however, far more electable than Hussein.

But as a European my thoughts don´t matter anyway.

Well, I would say that you are entitled to your opinions and your right to speak regardless what country you are a citizen of.

Well said.  Your opinions  "don't matter" in the sense that you don't get a vote.  However, every nation including my own, should weigh and respect the opinions of our neighbors around the world.  This is not to say the U.S. or any nation should base policy decisions exclusively or even mainly on foreign opinion.  But it should be a factor taken into consideration.

"Your opinions  "don't matter" in the sense that you don't get a vote."

This is what I meant to say. Just bad wording by me. My opinions do matter, that´s indisputable. Otherwise I wouldn´t be posting here in this forum Wink

"However, every nation including my own, should weigh and respect the opinions of our neighbors around the world."

I think I´m not really representative to the general opinion of my Austrian countrymen though. If you´d make a survey here, I think that just 10% of Austrians would know another Democratic Candidate than Hillary (and maybe) Obama (now). I doubt that lots of Austrians know who McCain and Giuliani are. Therefore they only base their support for Hillary on the fact that shes 1) a Democrat, which is the preferred party of about 75% of Austrians Wink 2) That she´s a woman who is also a good/experienced Senator who in consideration of the overall failure of the Bush-Presidency is seen able to restore the credibility of the US in Europe and elsewhere.
I think this support for her will fall when alternatives are shown in our media more often in 1 year.

I would consider it if Josef Stalin was the Republican, but I would vote for almost any evil dicator (even genicidal ones) over Hillary Clinton

Brilliant.

On the contrary, she already has 8 years' prior experience as President Wink.

She is a moderate, and apart from her war views, has supported a number of practical reforms that our nation desperately needs.  If we can start talking about reforming our health care system again, I would be thrilled.  If we can stop talking and actually start doing something about CO2 emissions and our dependence on foreign oil, I would be doubly thrilled.  That's what we would get with any Democrat, including Hillary.

If she can get through the primary, she will be Democrat enough for Democrats, and moderate enough for swing voters.  The mega-churching, homeschooling, gun-hoarding, conspiracy-believing types will raise bloody hell, but Hilary will still be a formidable candidate in the general.

She could win Virginia, and that might be all she would need.  I think she'd also stand a good shot at Florida, Colorado, and Arizona if McCain isn't her opponent.  And that's just the big-ticket states.  West Virginia, Arkansas, and Louisiana are also out there for the taking.

I would vote for her over any pro-war Republican opponent.

So you would vote for Saddam Hussein over Hillary Clinton?

considering that Saddam Hussein is dead and Hillary Clinton appears to be still alive...Yes, I would definately vote for Saddam over Hillary.

Never.  Absolutely not.  I'll either stay home or vote for the Republican candidate if she is nominated.

I am opposed to this woman becoming president on all accounts.

I fear what the GOP machine has in store for Obama.  He hasn't gone through the fire yet, and I don't know what to expect, or what sort of horrible mud they're going to dig up on him.

A compliment from someone who is not a Hillary Clinton fan.

Her shrill tone and transparant positioning have turned me off in the past.  But, I am impressed with the way she launched her campaign.  Her lets have a discussion/chat followed by the invitation to listen to voters thoughts on health care is a very good approach for her.  It softens her harshness by positioning her as a candidate who listens. This approach works very well on the gender differences as well.  She is force.

I would never vote for Hillary.  She is the Democratic equivalent of Richard Nixon:  someone who pursues the Presidency just for the sake of power and personal gain

make no mistake:  Hillary would kill her own daughter if it somehow helped her become President

And what, poor child, makes her different in that respect from your average run of the mill politico.

And no I wouldn't for a conservative like Clinton. Generally people whose best friends include rich, liberal lawyers are not to be trusted.
