HOUSE REPEALS INFLATION REDUCTION ACT OF 2022; SENDS BILL TO THE SENATE
The United States House of Representatives today repealed the „Inflation Reduction Act of 2022“ on a largely Party Line Vote. It was a promise House Speaker Steve Scalise made last week to get conservatives onboard to support President DeSantis signature „Border Security & Protection Act of 2022“. After passage Scalise said he is under no illusion that Senate Republicans will likely make some Changes in the Inflation Act of 2022 before it gets sent back to the House.
SENATE MAJORITY LEADER CORNYN: WE HAVE THE VOTES TO PASS THE BORDER SECURITY & PROTECTION ACT AT THE MOMENT
During a Press Conference in the Capitol Press Room Senate Majority Leader John Cornyn (R-Texas) standing alongside Majority Whip John Thune (R-South Dakota) and Conference Chairwoman Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) said to Congressional Reporters „We have the Votes to pass the bipartisan Border Security and Protection Act for the moment“.
@2016, Border Security & Protection Act 2022? Shouldn't it be the Inflation Reduction Act 2022?

I wonder what beef Cynthia Lummis has about the bill. I know she endorsed Rand Paul in 2016, but don't tell me she's no different than Liz "Mommy Warbucks" Cheney. Could she be the GOP version of Russ Feingold vis-a-vis the so-called "USA PATRIOT Act"? She definitely has to explain this, especially when dealing with the likes of Sean Hannity or Laura Ingraham. (Tucker Carlson has to have some reservations at least...)

ARIZONA GOVERNOR RACE 2026
Arizona State Treasurer KIMBERLY YEE (R-Arizona) announced this week her intention to challenge 1st Term Governor Katie Hobbs (D-Arizona) next year. Yee ran previously in 2022 but dropped out of the Republican Primary for Governor when TV Host & Celebrity KARI LAKE (R-Arizona) announced her own run and opted to run for Re-Election instead. After the 2022 Elections KARIN TAYLOR-ROBSON (R-Arizona) took over as the Republican Party Chairwoman in Arizona replacing Kelly Ward and vowed to select more credible Candidates. Then Candidate RON DESANTIS (R-Florida) carried Arizonas' 11 Electoral Votes during the 2024 Presidential Election. Yee has secured the backing of former Arizona Governor DOUG DUCEY (R-Arizona) and MEGHAN MCCAIN, Daughter of the late Senator & 2008 Presidential Candidate John McCain. In a Report published in the Newspaper Arizona Republic both Arizona Senators, Kyrsten Sinema (D-Arizona) and Mark Kelly (D-Arizona) have apparently told President DeSantis not to back Lake this time as they view Yee as a more Mainstream-type Republican who can put Arizona back on track. Sinema & Kelly are said to be massivly upset at Governor Hobbs for mishandling the Border Situation among other things and weighing endorsing Yee.

GEORGIA SENATE RACE 2026
Georgia Lieutenant Governor GEOFF DUNCAN (R-Georgia) announced today in Atlanta, Georgia that he would challenge 1st-Term Senator Jon Ossoff (D-Georgia) in next years Midterm Elections. Duncan had been running an Exploratory Committee for quite some time. However what wasn't clear until today was which Office he would pursue. Duncan had also been rumored taking a look at the Governors Office to succeed termed out Governor BRIAN KEMP (R-Georgia).
Duncan becomes the 1st high-profile Republican to run for a Democrat-held Senate Seat next year.
