President Stanton & SaintStan86,
I actually have Annette Taddeo running and be confirmed as the new Florida Democratic State Party Chairwoman since Manny Diaz flubbed everything so badly. They have to rebuilt their State Party before they can muster an effectiv challenge to Nuńez and other Florida Statewide Officeholders.
Therefore I have Debbie Mucarsel-Powell running in the FL-28 Special Election.
Florida Republicans have currently a 498,000 Registration Avantage at the beginning of 2025.

Friday 7th February 2025 Late Afternoon/Early Evening
NBC NEWS AIRS A SPECIAL REPORT AGAIN....
NBC BREAKING NEWS
PRESIDENT DESANTIS OFFICIALLY NOMINATES UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS JUDGE FOR THE 11TH DISTRICT BARBARA LAGOA AS ATTORNEY GENERAL

Lester Holt: I am Lester Holt and welcome back to another Special Report today. What you are currently seeing is a Picture Shot from the White House East Room where President DeSantis is about to officially announce Judge Barbara Lagoa as his choice for Attorney General. Before the President, the Vice President and Judge Lagoa and her Family comes out let's go quickly to our Chief White House Correspondent Kristen Welker. Kristen!

Kristen Welker: Thanks Lester! Senate Majority Leader John Cornyn just announced that this Nomination will be fast-tracked and he expects a Confirmation Vote before President DeSantis gives his Speech before a Joint Session of Congress later this month. They are about to come out so let's listen in.

President DeSantis, Vice President Haley and Judge Barbara Lagoa come out of the Door and enter the White House East Room.

President Ron DeSantis: Distinguished Guests, Members of the Media, Members of Congress and my fellow Americans I am here today to announce who will our Attorney General during my Presidency. It's a Woman who has impeccable credentials, a brillant legal mind and an incredible skill set. I've asked Judge BARBARA LAGOA as Attorney General of the United States of America.

Judge Barbara Lagoa: Mr. President, thank you for giving me this Opportunity to serve in your Administration and serve the people of this great Country of ours. I humbly & gratefully accept your Nomination as Attorney General of the United States of America.
Maam Vice President, Members of the Media, Members of Congress and all the people of this great Country being Attorney General bears huge responsibility but the Attorney General is not the Presidents personal Lawyer. For too long previous Administrations, Republicans & Democrats alike, have used the Department of Justice for their own Politcal Gain and have weaponized it. This is about to end. A Chief Law Enforcement Officer of this Country should not be used for Politcal Gain. Over the course of the last six years I have had the privilige to serve as Justice on the Florida State Supreme Court and as Judge on the Federal Bench and my uttomost desire is to restore trust in this Department. The American People need to know when this Department does something is does it right and it's not used for a politcal outmaneuvering. Thank You!

The Media takes some Pictures before DeSantis, Haley and Lagoa leave the East Room again.

Lester Holt: Chuck, your reaction to this now?

Chuck Todd: I think Judge Lagoa hit all the Points here. The DoJ has been badly damaged over the last four to six years and it's important to restore trust to the American People.

Lester Holt: That concludes our Special Report.

Sunday February 9th 2025
SUNDAY SHOWS: UNSURPRISINGLY MUCH OF IT WAS CENTERED AROUND THE NOMINATION FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL AND THE UPCOMING NATO MEETING IN WARSAW, POLAND ATTENDED BY SECRETARY OF STATE ROBERT O'BRIEN; ON NBC MTP MODERATOR CHUCK TODD UNVEILED THE FIRST NBC NEWS POLL SINCE PRESIDENT DESANTIS TOOK OFFICE ON JANUARY 20TH
One of the Panelists on NBC said quote:"You know who the most important Person is besides the President when it comes to Foreign Policy Chuck: His Vice President Nikki Haley. DeSantis is not born Foreign Policy Hawk like for example George W. Bush was but he has surrounded himself with good people. Particularly Nikki Haley I expect is someone who will shape the White House Foreign Policy in a big time way at least for the first two years. She did this when she was UN-Ambassador under Trump and the former President really nominated an inexperienced guy like Rex Tillerson."
Chuck Todd on the NBC NEWS POLL: President DeSantis Job Approval 65 % (that's a healthy Number); Congressional Job Approval: 45 % (still negative but it's ticking upward from the bottom we saw in 2022); 55 % of Respondents say Country needs to move past the 2020 Election Controversy and the subsequent January 6th 2021 Insurrection. Only 38 % have a favorable Opinion of Ted Cruz (that tells us pretty much why he could not get confirmed as AG); However 73 % have a favorable Opinion of President DeSantis 2nd Choice for AG Barbara Lagoa (that's impressive). Overall 58 % have a favorable Opinion how DeSantis Cabinet Nominations have been handled; When it comes to Policy 63 % want the Border Crisis to be resolved, 77 % Approve of the Presidents Executive Order to cancel all COVID-19 Restrictions, 80 % are scared of the Nations National Depth and 60 % wanted a National Balanced Budget Amendment (that's the highest we've seen when we asked this Question). Republicans enjoying a 46-39 Advantage on the Question who should control Congress after 2022 at this very early stage.
Todd quipped: Once President DeSantis Cabinet is confirmed and after the Presidents Speech before a Joint Session of Congress I expect the House & Senate to make some big moves to resolve these Issues. The Border & Balanced Budget were two of the Centerpieces of the DeSantis 2024 Campaign.

FOX NEWS SUNDAY with Shannon Bream had former Judiciary Chairman, South Carolina Lindsey Graham on the Show where he said he was very impressed with the Selection of Barbara Lagoa as Attorney General and he expects an easy Confirmation for her at some Point next week. Bream mentioned that quote "You got a new Senate Colleague in your Home State to be sworn in next week". Graham said: "Yes, I know Shannon very exiting. I've know Catherine a very long time when she was serving in the Administration of our Vice President then Governor Nikki Haley. She will be a fantastic Senator for South Carolinians". When asked about his own Race in 2026 Graham said "We'll see. I haven't made a Decision on that yet."

Monday February 10th 2025
THE SENATE CONFIRMED CONGRESSMAN JOHN LEE RATCLIFFE AS DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY BY A 71-27 ROLL CALL VOTE AS ATTORNEY GENERAL NOMINEE LAGOA MAKES HER ROUNDS ON CAPITOL HILL AHEAD OF HER SENATE HEARING; CORNYN ANNOUNCES THAT APPOINTED SENATORS TEMPLETON & HEINEMAN WILL BE SWORN IN TOMORROW MORNING
Today the Senate confirmed Congressman John Lee Ratcliffe of Texas as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency by a vote of 71-27. Since Ratcliffe did not take his Seat when Congress reconvened in January Texas Governor Greg Abbott already was able to issue a Special Election on April 12th with a Runoff potentially in May (should no one reach 50 %) and a likely Special General Election in June.
DeSantis Appointee for Attorney General Barbara Lagoa made the rounds on Capitol Hill ahead of her Confirmation Hearing next week and was generally well received on both sides of the aisle.
Senate Majority Leader John Cornyn announced that appointed Senators Catherine Templeton (R-South Carolina) & Dave Heineman (R-Nebraska) will be Sworn-In tomorrow morning. When asked by CNN's Congressional Correspondent Manu Raju why the rush Majority Whip John Thune quipped: "We expect some contentious Senate Votes this week so we need all hands on deck. We scheduled the more easy confirmation Votes first as you can see in the Nominees that have been already confirmed." When pressed who are the more contentious Votes Cornyn & Thune stayed mum.

CAMPAIGN NEWS 2025/2026
FLORIDA
STATE PARTY LEADERS CONFIRMED: THE FLORIDA DEMOCRATIC STATE PARTY CONFIRMED THAT IT HAS SELECTED FORMER STATE SENATOR & CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE ANNETTE TADDEO TO REPLACE OUTGOING STATE PARTY CHAIR MANNY DIAZ WHILE ON THE REPUBLICAN SIDE CHRISTIAN ZIEGLER WILL TAKE OVER THE REIGNS FROM JOE GRUTERS WHO TOOK A JOB IN THE DESANTIS ADMINISTRATION
State Parties in the Sunshine State, the Home State of President DeSantis confirmed to various local News Outlets around the State that they have selected their new State Party Leaders for at least the next 2 Years after Central Cmte Vote took place over the weekend. Democrats selected former State Senator, Congressional Candidate & 2014' Running Mate of Gubernatorial Nominee Charlie Crist ANNETTE TADDEO as State Party Chairwoman. Taddeo accepting her new Post said: "It's more important right now to rebuild the Florida Democratic State Party" after enduring heavy defeats in 2022 & 2024 then to run for Congress (Taddeo was mentioned as a Candidate for the now Vacant Congressional Seat formerly held by current Homeland Security Secretary Carlos Gimenez).
On the Republican Side Republican State Party Vice Chair CHRISTIAN ZIEGLER took over the reigns from JOE GRUTERS who took a Job in the White House West Wing. Ziegler accepting his new Post said:"I will do everything in my Power to protect President DeSantis legacy in his Home State when he was Governor here and we will work as hard to keep Florida RED in 2026". This comes on the heels of the Florida Divisions of Elections showing Republicans with a 498,000 Voter Registration Advantage over Democrats which might explain the 13-Point Victory DeSantis had during the 2024 Presidential Election in FLORIDA.

VIRGINIA
CONGRESSWOMAN JENNIFER WEXTON & CONGRESSMAN DONALD MCEACHIN LAUNCH GUBERNATORIAL BIDS TO UNSEAT GOVERNOR WINSOME SEARS
Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D VA-10) and Rep. Donald McEachin (D VA-4) launched Bids to unseat newly sworn in Governor Winsome Sears in this years Gubernatorial Race which could become a very expensive one. Virginia was a microscope of the struggles the Democratic Party endured during the Biden Presidency. In 2021 a relative unknown Glenn Youngkin managed to beat former Governor Terry McAuliffe riding Winsome Sears, then a Lieutenant Governor Candidate and Jason Miyares, then a Candidate for Virginia Attorney General to victory. In 2022, with no Statewide Race on the Ballot and Turnout relativly low Democrats lost two Virginia House Districts (In the 2nd District Jen Kiggans beat Rep. Elaine Luria & in VA-7 little known Yesli Vega beat Rep. Abigail Spanberger). On top of that Republican Presidential Nominee, now President Ron DeSantis managed to win the Commonwealths' 13 Electoral Votes during the 2024 Presidential Election for the first time since George W. Bush in 2004 and in one of the biggest shocks of Election Night 2024 2017 Virginia Lieutenant Governor Nominee Jill Vogel managed to beat 2-Term Incumbent Senator, '2016 Vice Presidential Nominee & former DNC Chairman Tim Kaine.
In the Aftermath National Democratic Party Leaders ripped then Vice President Kamala Harris for barely campaigning in the Commonwealth while National Republican Party Leaders drew similarities to Wisconsin' 2016 when then Speaker of the House Paul Ryan & then Governor Scott Walker managed to win the States' 10 Electoral Votes for then Candidate Donald Trump.
"This was all about Glenn Youngkin and the Machinery he built up after becoming Governor".
Virginia State Party Officials vowed to rebuild VIRGINIA.

Tuesday February 11th 2025
TEMPLETON, HEINEMAN SWORN IN AS NEW SENATORS; SENATOR RUBIO SHUTS DOWN DEMOCRATIC COUNTERPART IN CONTENTIOUS HEARING FOR UN-AMBASSADOR RIC GRENELL; VOTE TO CONFIRM KRISTI NOEM AS SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR TO BE TAKEN TONIGHT PER MAJORITY LEADERS OFFICE
Appointed Senators Catherine Templeton & Dave Heineman were sworn in as Senators this Morning by Vice President Nikki Haley. Particularly for Templeton who was flanked on the right by Senator Lindsey Graham and on the left by new HUD Secretary Tim Scott (who came over to watch her swearing-in Ceremony), it marked a Special Moment having served under Haleys tutelage when Haley was Governor of South Carolina all those years ago.
In her first floor speech as a Senator around Midday Templeton paid an emotional tribute to her Predecessor Tim Scott, who was the first Republican African-American Senator from the South since Reconstruction. Templeton remarked "His Legacy within these walls will never be forgotten and we all have big shoes to fill to fill that void he left behind".
Meanwhile Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, who is a Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Cmte. had a contentious exchange with one of his Democratic Counterparts in the Senate Hearing to confirm Ric Grenell as Ambassador to the United Nations:"It seems you haven't gotten the Memo Senator. Voters are tired of hearing about the 2020 Election. They have moved on from citing the 55 % in the NBC Poll released Sunday. I will not let you derail this Man's life".
The Office of Senate Majority Leader John Cornyn released a Statement after lunch saying "The Vote to confirm South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as Secretary of the Interior will be held tonight". Both, Cornyn & Senate Majority Whip John Thune are confident Noem will be confirmed however the cited that there could be some defections. With Templeton & Heineman sworn in Republicans have 65 Votes so technically they have 15 to spare. Vice President Haley will be presiding over that vote just in case there is a tie which Cornyn & Thune don't expect they will have.

Wednesday February 12 2025
JOHN RATCLIFFE TAKES HIS SEAT AS CIA DIRECTOR; SENATE CONFIRMS NOEM AS SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR IN A LATE NIGHT VOTE TUESDAY EVENING 58-42 WITH MASSACHUSETTS SENATOR ELIZABETH WARREN HOLDING UP THE VOTE FOR SEVERAL HOURS; HOUSE LEADERSHIP TO GO TO WHITE HOUSE TODAY TO BEGIN FORMAL TALKS HOW TO IMPLEMENT PRESIDENT DESANTIS AGENDA. THEY WILL BE JOINED BY REPS CASSY GARCIA, MONICA DE LA CRUZ & MAYRA FLORES. SCALISE ALSO EXTENDED INVITATIONS TO TWO DEOCRATIC SENATORS: KYRSTEN SINEMA & MARK KELLY AND THEY HAVE ACCEPTED. MAJOR HOT TOPIC ON THIS FIRST DAY - THE SOUTHERN BORDER CRISIS
John Ratcliffe was sworn in this Morning as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency and promised to protect the Country to the best of his abilities in his Introduction Speech.
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem was confirmed as Secretary of the Interior by the Senate 58-42 in a late Night Vote that was held up for several Hours by Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren.
House Speaker Steve Scalise announced today that the House Leadership consisting of the Speaker, Majority Leader Banks, Majority Whip Ferguson & Conference Chair Hinson would travel to the White House to begin formal talks how to pass & implement President DeSantis Political Agenda. The Leadership will be joined by Rep Cassy Garcia, Monica de la Cruz and Mayra Flores. Scalise also invited the two Demcratic Senators from the Border State of Arizona, Mark Kelly & Kyrsten Sinema to join the Meeting with the Southern Border Crisis the Hot Topic. Before embarking to the White House Scalise held his Weekly News Conference and spoke to Reporters.

House Speaker Steve Scalise
„Good Morning! I know you all have a lot of Question and we will get to that a bit later. Today I can report to the American People that we will begin the first formal steps to solve our Southern Border Crisis and our Immigration System as a whole. Since the Biden Admistration took Office in January 2021 until the end of 2024 5.8 Million undocumted Immigrants crossed our Southern Border and overwhelmed our Communities particularly in the States of Texas & Arizona, yet the core Democratic Leadership in the House & Senate focused their attention on countless Spending Bills instead of resolving this Issue. President DeSantis has made illegal border crossings as one of the Central Pieces of his Presidential Campaign and we are now going to answer that call. I've made several trips myself to Texas & Arizona and the Situation is a complete mess down there. I am encouraged by the Open mind of Senators Sinema & Kelly who are standing behind me, to work with us. Immigration Reform shouldn't just be a Republican or Democratic Issue, it should concern all Americans. With that I am now going to answer some Question.“

REPORTER # 1: Will there be a Border Wall like former President Trump once suggested?

House Speaker Steve Scalise
„I knew this was coming. We don't know that yet. Look, a wall doesn't neccessarily mean you have less illegal Immigration. There are other Mechanisms to solve a Border Crisis like for example hiring more Border Patrol Agents. We have far less at the Southern Border then we need. We need more to be quite frank!“

REPORTER # 1: Given that previous Attempts to reform our Immigration System failed what makes you to believe you will be able to get something done this time?

House Speaker Steve Scalise
„The Country was very divided back then. We will have the Public on our side this time I believe. As I said in my remarks this isn't a Republican or Democratic Issue, it's an American Issue. There is no reason we can't craft an Immigration Bill that can pass with overwhelming bipartisan Majorities and I am sure we will other Democrats besides Senators Sinema & Kelly who are standing behind me. Thank You!“

OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT: VICE PRESIDENT HALEY TO ATTEND HOUSE LEADERSHIP MEETING WITH CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATIONS FROM TEXAS & ARIZONA AMID BORDER CRISIS
Soon after House Speaker Scalise wrapped up his Weekly Press Conference CNN learned through Spokesperson for VP that Vice President Nikki Haley will attend that Meeting. This comes amid increased Speculation that President DeSantis is ready to tap his Vice President as BORDER CZAR sometime next week.

@PRESIDENT STANTON,
I wouldn't dismiss Soto entirely even with that big Registration lead Republicans have.
Consider this: Puerto Ricans are the largest Hispanic Voting Subgroups in Florida not Cuban Hispanics.
And many of these Puerto Ricans live in the KEY PART of the State, the I4 Corridor.
Since Puerto Rico had their Economic Crisis in 2015/early 2016 and Hurricane Maria wrecked havoc on that Island in 2017 7,000 to 9,000 Puerto Ricans a month have left that Island, many now residing now around the I4 in Orange, Osceola, Polk among other Counties.

Of Course DeSantis put conventional wisdom out in FL by winning two landslides in 2022 & 2024. That doesn't automatically mean it's going to continue.

Florida Statewide Elections no matter if it's for President, Governor, Senator or any other Statewide Office are usually decided along the I4 where you have Tampa/St. Pete on one end and Daytona on the other side and everything else between are Swing Voters.

The Microscope of FLORIDA is Orange County (Orlando). This was a 50/50 County if you look into PRES Elections from 1988 to 2004 but since then it has become a predominant Democratic County. Even DeSantis couldn't carry it in 2024.

Nuńez is favoured no question but because of the Puerto Rican Constituency Soto is by no means completely out of the Race if he follows through and runs.

@PRESIDENT STANTON,
On the Ambassadors. They had a lot of time to consider. Remember Congress is in Session since early January.
On your Border Wall thingy I feel irritated a bit: Why put a slap in the face of Voters who Republican had to work for extremely hard to win over? Doesn't make sense to me! I think there is another way to solve this Issue. I want to move this TL a bit away from Trump. Some of his Policies were very good, others extremely bad especially the seperation of Families at the Border. Former Homeland Chief under Trump Kirstjen Nielsen monkied this up in every imaginable way possible. She did so bad she had to resign.

Hispanic Voters should never been taken for granted IMO.

Point taken @2016, forgot those negatives, you outlined. But, inasmuch the border situation will have to be resolved, and the speech to congress will need to be manufactured using some imaginative policy stuff and language, that has a dual purpose,  resolve the border situation and be appealing enough to all Hispanics. Punting on the issue, will only have shortlived benefits. Bottom line,
the policy will need to have good political optics. But agreed, moving away from all the bad Trump tone deaf stuff and just embrace all the good stuff.
@ President Stanton,
We may have to console @SaintStan86. I am a terrible Speech Writer Wink

Friday February 14th 2025
NOEM SWORN IN AS SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR; FLORIDA SENATOR MARCO RUBIO ANNOUNCES ON "THE LEAD WITH JACK TAPPER" THAT HE WILL JOIN THE GANG OF 5 TO CRAFT IMMIGRATION REFORM
Former South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem was officially sworn in as Secretary of the Interior this Morning by Vice President Nikki Haley completing her Journey back to Washington.

However the bigger News on an otherwise slow News Friday came at 12.30pm when Florida Senator Marco Rubio announced at a Press Conference in the Capitols Senate Building with Senators Sinema & Kelly as well as Republican House Representatives Cassy Garcia, Monica de la Cruz and Mayra Flores standing behind him that he would join them to craft and Co-Sponsor an Immigration Reform Bill if neccessary. Rubio said quote "Our Immigration System is broken and we need to fix it once and for all".

He then went on to CNN's Afternoon Show "The Lead with Jake Tapper" reiterating his support. Tapper pressed him and said "We all remember that you tried to pass Immigration Reform with the then Gang of Eight in 2013 and that eventually fell apart. What makes you believe it can pass this time?" Rubio: "We're in a very, very different situation Jake. Even if something had passed President Obama would have likely vetoed it. Republicans have overwhelming Majorities this time and President DeSantis would not veto it I can assure you that. The last four years have been very tough for people on the border because the previous Adminstration flat out ignored what happened. We've seen Mass Ilegal Immigration overwheming our Border Communities. I was down in Texas last year quite a few times while campaigning for fellow Republicans. and it is an absolute mess there. All this opened quite a few eyes. Even Democrats say this can't continue the way it's been." Tapper: "Senator Rubio, thank You". Rubio: "Thanks for having me on Jake".

Poltical Analysts say that this was probably the reason Senate Minority Leader Charles "Chuck" Schumer lashing out at Senators Kyrsten Sinema & Mark Kelly.

It also explains the upbeat tone by CNN's Chris Wallace.

Sunday February 16th 2025
WHILE SCALISE & CORNYN SPARED OVER CONFIRMATIONS & OTHER LEGISLATIVE ITEMS ON FOX NEWS SUNDAY WITH SHANNON BREAM AND IMMIGRATION REFORM WAS DISCUSSED AT LENGTH BY PANELISTS AT CNN ARIZONA SENATOR KYRSTEN SINEMA SAT DOWN WITH NBC'S CHUCK TODD ON MEET THE PRESS FOR A ONE-TO-ONE INTERVIEW

Meet The Press One-to-One Interview with Arizona Senator KYRSTEN SINEMA moderated by MTP Anchor Chuck Todd

Chuck Todd: Senator Sinema, welcome to Meet the Press!

Senator Sinema: Thanks for having me on your Show Chuck!

Chuck Todd: Senator, there is so much talk about Immigration Reform these past few Days. On Wednesday you had a 1st Meeting with the White House, your colleague Senator Kelly and the Leaders of the Republican House. We get to that a little bit later in the Show but my first Question is when did you decide to become involved overhauling the Nations Immigration System?

Senator Sinema: Thanks for the Question Chuck! I actually decided this quite awhile ago even before the 2022 Midterm Elections. I got really offended by then Vice President Harris Remark when she said quote "The Border is secure" which was and still is absolutely not true and accurate. Republicans took Congress that year but since we still had a Democratic President who would have likely vetoed any effort I or others would have made to overhaul the Immigration System it was a bit pointless to start it in the run up to a Presidential Election as it would have gone nowhere.
What I can tell you Chuck: The Situation has even more deteriorated especially since Governor Hobbs took over the State and did not wage one finger to secure the border. It's heartbreaking to see when you visit the Arizona/Mexico Border and people talking to you and telling you that they often afraid to go outside especially at Night because of Drug Cartels swarming our Communities.
Last year I then had to content with my own Re-Election Race and during that time I made a Committment to the people of Arizona that if I am fortunate to serve the people of my State for another six years I would do everything in my power to secure the border and overhaul the nations broken immigration system!

Chuck Todd: Senate Minority Leader Schumer called you a "Hypocrite" on Friday in the Situation Room on CNN. Your thoughts about that?

Senator Sinema: I know Chuck, I watched it! I find it totally ridiculous! Everyone should remind the Minority Leader that he is not beholden to radical left wing of our Party but has to work with every fraction of our Caucus. When the radical left tried to put out all norms of the Senate and the Constitution quite frankly I stood tall defending the Senate Filibuster in 2021 and 2022. When they tried to seek a carve out for example of their HR1 Elections Reform Bill I stood tall again. When they came up with the Inflation Reduction Act, which actually did nothing to reduce the Inflation in our Country I supported it. As a Result it almost did cost me my Race last year. On top of that the Senate Minority Leader dumped rougly 30M $ to defeat me in the Democratic Primary supporting my Opponent so I don't think it's fair when he says that.

Chuck Todd: Going back to the Meeting you had at the White House on Wednesday. How did that go down?

Senator Sinema: I am encouraged Chuck! The President, the Vice President, his Senior Staff and Republican Congressional Leaders seem to have a very open mind. We had a very good and honest conversation about it and what we want to do to solve the problem. There will likely be more Meetings in the not too distant future!

Chuck Todd: On Friday Florida Senator Marco Rubio joined your Group. Does he help your efforts, hurt your efforts? How do you see it?

Senator Sinema: We'll see! However I am more inclined to think that he helps since he already worked on Immigration in 2013 with seven other Senators back then. The Immigration Bill probably through would need to be somewhat stricter given what happened the last four years.

Chuck Todd: Would you support a Border Wall like former President Trump is suggesting?

Senator Sinema: Listen Chuck, a border wall should be our last resort if everything else fails. I think there are other mechanisms to secure our border. I would never sign on for a Legislation that seperates families and puts children in cages like we saw in the Administration of former President Trump. That was horrifying to see!

Chuck Todd: Senator Sinema, thank You for your time this morning!

Senator Sinema: Anytime Chuck!

Chuck Todd: That concludes our Interview with Arizona Senator Krysten Sinema. If it's Sunday, it's Meet The Press!

In the immediate Aftermath after the failed Ted Cruz' Nomination Speculation surrounded who would replace him with two Names frequently being mentioned, former SOCILITOR GENERAL under President Trump NOEL FRANCISCO as well as UNITED STATES JUDGE FOR THE 11TH COURT OF APPEALS BARBARA LAGOA, who won her Appointment as a Judge to the Federal Bench in 2019 by a resounding 80-15 Vote.

MAHONEY), OMB DIRECTOR (PETE PATERSON) AND THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (BRAD CLOSE)
CNN SOURCES: PRESIDENT RON DESANTIS PLANS TO APPOINT HIS VICE PRESIDENT NIKKI HALEY „BORDER SECURITY CZAR“ ON WEDNESDAY

Attorney General Abe Hamadeh 45 % / 45 %
State Teasurer Kimberly Yee 54 % / 43 %

And if the Candidates were Katie Hobbs, the Democrat and Meghan McCain the Republican whom would you vote for?
Meghan McCain 51 %
Katie Hobbs 40 %
Undecided/Refused 9 %

Pollster Mike Noble: Since there was so much talk last week about Border Security and Immigration Reform we decided to go into the Field to gauge what Voters are thinking. Our Poll was in the Field from Feb 12-16 and we polled 650 Registered Arizonans.
The big red flag is obviously for Governor Katie Hobbs who has only a 38 % Overall Job Approval but her Approval on Crime and Border Security is much lower and sits in the mid to low 30ties.
Hobbs would trail all her potential Challengers next year from anywhere between 6 to 15 Percentage Points.
We've seen a massive shift from Voters towards Border Security although that is in line what we saw in the 2024 Presidential Election when President DeSantis pulled out a surprisingly large Victory and made huge inroads into the Hispanic Community.
Voters have a mixed additude towards a Border Wall but would support more Border Patrol Agents, Law Enforcements and Background Checks to those who enter Arizona through our Border.
Voters are also approving of the Job President DeSantis is doing but are also reacting very positivly to Senators Kelly and Sinema. 3/4 of the Voters we polled support their efforts to secure the border and overhaul the immigration system who many say is broken.

@PRESIDENT STANTON,
Poll seems very unrealistic. Unlikely DeSantis has a 57 % JA in CA. Also as @SaintStan86 mentioned CA has still a Top-2 Primary System. Regarding Hispanic Voters in CA, they are generally speaking more liberal compared to the rest of the States with high Hispanic Populations (Remember how Sanders romped Biden in the Democratic Presidential Primary in 2020 among Hispanics). That doesn't mean Republicans can't win if Newsom drives the State more into the ditch.

It would be interesting to know how much inroads DeSantis made into the Asian-American Pacific Islander Community. My guess is that someone like Rep. Michelle Steel or Rep. Young Kim would have a better chance compared to Faulconer or Garcia.

THE BIG WEDNESDAY
Washington D. C. wakes up to a cold, rainy and grey Day in February, Wednesday the 19th of 2025.
For one particular Woman residing in the Naval Observatory and a nearby House this Day was different, the Vice President of the United States of America Nikki R. Haley. Today she would be put in charge of a 1,945 Mile Border between the Country and it's Southern Neighbor Mexico. She wasn't afraid. She had never walked away from a challenge before. The Mass Shooting in Charleston in her Home State of South Carolina in 2015 and being felt vulnerable as Governor afterwards as well as being the Ambassador to the United Nations during the Trump Presidency had toughened her up.
What she felt was the burden of expectation! With Republicans enjoying unprecedented Majorities in both Houses of Congress due to her Boss's landslide Victory in the 2024 Presidential Election for the first time, maybe the only time in this Countries History, meaningful Border Security and subsequent Immigration Reform was possible. How could you not fell the weight as Daughter of Indian Immigrants?
Haley recalled in her mind a conversation she had with then Presidential Candidate & Florida Senator Marco Rubio in 2016 when she campaigned for him to draw strength from it:

Rubio in 2016: "Nikki, Immigration Reform & Border Security will be hard, it will take years but if I am fortunate to be our Presidential Nominee and become President I will do everything in my power no matter how long it takes to get it done".

There she was, at the crossroads of something he wanted to do all those years ago. But so many had crumbled before with this issue! George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump and lastly her Predecessor in the previous Administration, former Vice President Kamala Harris, who was put in the same Position she would be put in today. As she embarks on her way to the White House for a Press Conference that would be put together for the 2pm Hour she said to herself:

"Not this time. This time we will get it done for the good of the Country however long it takes."

MEANWHILE DURING THE CNN MORNING SHOW „NEW DAWN FOR AMERICA“ (RENAMED FROM NEW DAY IN RECOGNITION OF PRESIDENT DESANTIS FIRST 100 DAYS IN OFFICE) WITH ALISYN CAMEROTA & JOHN BERMAN A HONEST CONVERSATION TAKES PLACE BETWEEN REPUBLICANS (SCOTT JENNINGS & MARK MACKINNON) AND DEMOCRATS (KIRSTEN POWERS)
Scott Jennings: What I worry most Mark & Kirsten is the sky high expectation the Administration has put themselves under particularly on the issue of border security & immigration reform. Even with the large majorities you pointed out you can't just wave a hand and it happens. It is going to take years to really go into effect. People crumble under that sort of pressure!
Kirsten Powers: True Scott but President DeSantis has really good Advisors on this issue I think. Look at Secretary of Homeland Security Carlos Gimenez and the majorities Republicans have are really large with 270 Members in the House (when all the Specials have been filled up) and 65 Seats in the Senate. I think it all comes down how many concessions the more conservative fraction in the House & Senate are willing to make. Border Security is one thing and mostly everyone will agree that we need more border reinforcements but what are you going to with the almost 6M People who already came here illegally? Deport them? Seperate their Families like Donald Trump & Kirstjen Nielsen did in 2017/2018? I don't think that is what President DeSantis wants given his historical gains he made with the Hispanic Community last year. And keep in mind despite the border being not secure at the moment rougly 60 % still favour a Pathway to Citizenship.
Mark Mackinnon: What we first need is clean the border of those drug dealers & cartels operating at the southern border and we can't do that all alone by ourselves Kirsten. President DeSantis and Vice President Haley (who will be tapped as Border Security Czar today) need some help. While I absolutely despise the rhetoric of former President Trump when he said "We will built a wall and Mexico is going to pay for it" the Mexicans do need to sent some border security reinforcements to prevent those folks I mentioned from crossing over. That's why the Ambassador to Mexico along with Haley as Security Czar and Homeland Secretary Gimenez is so important to this. As for those 6M People who already crossed we need to run background checks on them to make sure they don't have a criminalistic one and if people behave like a normal American Citizen offer them a Pathway to Citizenship after a resonable time.
Kirsten Powers: I agree with this Mark. That would be a good place to start!
Scott Jennings: I wouldn't be surprised if President DeSantis sents VP Haley and a Delegation to Mexico soon.
Mark Mackinnon: Maybe Congress passes a Border Security Bill first and then afterwards dealing with these 5.8 to 6M People House Speaker Scalise mentioned who crossed the border illegally?
Kirsten Powers: We shall see!

ON ABC'S GOOD MORNING AMERICA FORMER NEW JERSEY GOVERNOR CHRIS CHRISTIE WEIGHED IN ON THE DESANTIS' AGENDA IN GENERAL
What I really like about this Administration George is that there is some sort of burden sharing. We knew Vice President Haley would take over more of the National Security matters like border security given her time at the UN while President DeSantis will most likely unveil more of his Economic Agenda soon.

Around 10.30 Vice President Nikki Haley arrives at the White House, takes some refreshment and does some editing in her Office.

Around 12.30 Nikki Haley goes into the Oval Office, meets President Ron DeSantis, National Security Advisor Dina Powell-McCormick, Homeland Security Advisor Ken Cuccinelli, Homeland Secretary Carlos Gimenez, Chief of Staff Byron Donalds, Senior Advisor Brad Herold and White House Counsel Chris Sprowls. They are having Discussions in the Oval Office.

Around 1.50: DeSantis, Haley, Cuccinelli, McCormick-Powell, Gimenez and Donalds make their way to the Press Room.

President DeSantis, Vice President Haley, Homeland Security Advisor Cuccinelli, National Security Advisor Powell-McCormick, Homeland Secretary Gimenez and Chief of Staff Donalds come out of the Door and enter the White House Press Room.

President Ron DeSantis: Good Afternoon! Today as President of the United States who has a constitutional Duty to protect our Country I am announcing further steps to protect our southern border. I am appointing my Vice President, NIKKI HALEY, as my Border Security Czar and Nikki has gratefully accepted this Appointment!

Vice President Nikki Haley: Mr. President, I humbly accept your Appointment as Border Security Czar and with this new role I pledge to do everything in my power to help secure our Southern Border paving the way for Immigration Reform this Country badly needs.
Like the President said these are just further steps to reach that goal. On this occasion we should mention our border patrol agents who are performing so admirably under a lot of stress & adversity and they are vastly outnumbered but I have good News for them. You are heard within these four walls of the White House and accross Washington and help is on the way soon.
I also want to thank our communities living on the border for their resilience over the last four years. You will not be forgotten like you have by previous Administrations. Over the next few weeks I will strongly collaborate with Homeland Security Advisor Cuccinelli, National Security Powell-McCormick, Homeland Secretary Gimenez and I plan to visit the southern border as soon as practically possible. Thank You!

HALEYS APPOINTMENT AS BORDER SECURITY CZAR DRAWS WIDESPREAD POSITIVE REACTION DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING NEWS SHOWS WITH ONE EXCEMPTION
VP Haleys Appointment as Border Security Czar drew widespread positive Reaction during the Afternoon and early Evening News Shows.
FOX NEWS Pentagon Correspondent Jennifer Griffin weighed in during THE STORY WITH MARTHA MACCALLUM saying quote "The Country needed a Course Correction after the failed Policies of the previous Administration and these new steps will provide that. She also said VP Haley showed an EAGERNESS to visit the border as soon as practically possible and to be quite frank Martha we never saw that eagerness from former VP Harris when she was in the same postion."
On ABC WORLD NEWS WITH DAVID MUIR ABC's Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz weighed in saying quote "These are just the first few steps to resolve the issue of Immigration. It'll never be an easy fix David but the new Administration is making all the right moves here."
Meanwhile on MSNBC Joy Reid & Alex Wagner accused President DeSantis of playing "Gender Politics" again. Reid quipped: "Kamala did not lose because she was a bad Candidate. She lost because a certain Florida Governor played Gender Politics during the 2024 Presidential Election" Soon after Alex Wagner joined the Chorus.
