As the sponsor is unable to advocate for obvious reasons, I’ll just open up the floor for debate. If another Senator would like to take up sponsorship, you’re more than welcome to make the appropriate motions.

Mr President I have the following statement from the Senator in question:

Quote from: Senator DeadPrez via Discord message
Private colleges and universities have a massive endowment and rarely ever give back to the federal government that grants them subsidies and free-reign. Additionally, private institutions are unwilling to address the high cost of higher education. A modest tax imposed on private colleges and universities will give the government more revenue and possibly another revenue stream to assist students in the future.

Abstain because I’m actually interested in seeing DPrez’s argument more fleshed out, there’s a potentially good point in there.

Realistically, all that is going to happen here is funding is going to be pulled from things other than the Chancellor's salary. This includes stuff like research, student activities, etc. Also this tax does nothing to actually help with student debt or tuition, I will note. Quite frankly, the bill's title speaks for itself, it's a transparent attempt to attack higher education, which again, we should not be surprised by given the extreme anti-intellectualism of the Atlasian right.

How predictable to see Captain Neolib defending SALT again.

I have submitted a formal request for cost estimate by the GM team and provided some sources and proposed methodology to hopefully expedite the score.

Okay hang on, you were infamous for using terrible sources to cost when you were GM, but I expect nothing else from such an incompetent and useless PPT, you should just quit the game for your good and ours.

Those in glass houses should not throw stones.

It isn't though, the party has triangulated with the far right, and your chair even admitted this.

I have been "triangulating" with every faction of the right since 2009 (November 21st, meaning Monday was the 13th anniversary of my first Chairmanship election).

I don't see much outrage at the Labor chair "triangulating" with the far left.

S019's definition of 'far right' is someone who tells him no.
