Do you support a ban on Russian visas to the EU?

Yes. There are several videos of Russian tourists verbally abusing Ukrainians in EU countries.

So you advocate collective punishment? Would you demand the same for Ukrainians/Europeans verbally abusing apolitical Russians who just want to go on with their lives? Because this seems to be the more common sight these days.

Tourist visas can be banned, and exceptions can still be made for members of the Russian opposition.

I still see no reason for that. If anything, this would only help Putin and reinforce his message that Europe is driven by blind Russophobia.

It's not a punishment. Tourism is not some unalienable human right.

If Russia wants to ban all Western tourists as an act of reciprocity, that's fine by me. No one in their right mind would travel there now anyway.

Putin does not need reasons to spew propaganda about the West. He makes up excuses; if it's not this, then it's something else.

The Russian people think they can go on living their lives like nothing has changed. As long as they have that attitude, they will never seek to change the country. A tourist visa ban is the least we can do.

Can you imagine being a Ukrainian refugee in the EU, getting a job at a hotel or a restaurant, and then having to serve Russian tourists wearing Z symbols?

DavidB.:
Russians celebrating their birthday parties in Cyprus or Greece while Russia is waging a hot war on Ukraine - including the most heinous of war crimes - and a cold one (in the most literal sense, this winter) on all of Europe is simply untenable. Yeah, ban them, but make exceptions for people who have a credible record of being outspoken against this war.

That would literally be their problem and their problem only. It’s not like they’ll actually be physically hurt by that.

That's exactly what I would say about denying visa to Russians.
