Had an idea for a play, "Felix and Metrobia"

Felix- A young YAFer going to Columbia Law School with a fascination for New York City's gritty underground.

Metrobia- A Drag Queen whom Felix falls in love with, who matches Felix's intensity for politics with her own apathy for the whole thing.

It follows Felix as he falls in love and is forced to reconcile his own desire for political advancement and his sincere conservatism with his relationship, his personality, and his sexuality.

Takes place, obviously, in NYC sometime during an election. Probably '68 or '72. Set amongst the backdrop of political upheaval, the beginning of New York's avant garde/punk scene, as well as the introduction of heroin into the underground.

Sounds super wholesome! There's some slice-of-life and kids' shows like that. They're a nice escape- the argument that life would be bad without struggle is at best cope and at worst justification for the exploitation of others.
