He used his own money, which was among 4 billion dollars. Simple as that.
He had people shut out like Rubio and Clinton, the two frontrunners the previous year.
He won all 99 of Florida’s delegates, homegrown Rubio was gone immediately after that.
He won all 20 of Pennsylvania’s electoral votes, convention-grown Clinton was gone immediately after that.

I only have one serious problem with this "Convention-grown" Clinton, Clinton was very popular among the Democratic base, especially black voters, as she had been until Obama's surprise victory in Iowa in 2008. Bill is probably the 2nd most popular President among Black Voters in recent memory.
