Ordinary people want to know just why is it so important to hold Drag Queen Story Hours in front of children.  Why is it so important children see this and experience this, particularly with the sponsorship of public schools and/or public libraries?  Why is it so important to speak to the K-3 students about Gender Identity, different topics involving sexuality, and concepts of sexual orientation, and why is it so important that this be done in the Public School, sanctioned by the Public School? 

They would like to know why this is so important.  Why can't these matters be left to parents.  No one can tell me why this is so essential, and why it's the end of the world when a municipality says "No!" to this.

Leaving the drag stuff aside, they want kids to know that LGBTQ+ people and particulatly trans people exist and are just people like everybody else. They want to educate kids so they don't treat their classmates like freaks and make them depressed and want to commit suicide, or, heavin forbid, assault them. They want trans people basically to be a boring uninteresting thing that exists for kids growing up, not a fascinating freak show as they might think otherwise, based on how things have gone in the past.
