The documents Trump is known to have retained (like his "love letters" from Kim Jong-un) are the type of harmless momentos you'd show-off at a party.  Trump is really suffering for how over-classified a lot of executive branch material is, and this over-prosecution is political.

Try again:

Quote
The FBI found documents containing classified intelligence regarding Iran and China at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, say two people familiar with the matter.

The Washington Post was first to report that the intelligence on Iran and China was found at Trump’s Florida residence and club during the FBI’s recent search of the property.

The Post reported, but NBC News has not confirmed, that “at least one of the documents seized by the FBI describes Iran’s missile program.”

What about the documents he is not known to have retained but did? We don't know everything he retained.

Nah fam. We know he had nuclear documents, which he lacks the power to declassify. That alone is a serious crime, and the fact that he attempted to hide them, lied about having them and in general obstructed the investigation is an egregious criminal act.

I'm sure it will be a great comfort to him when Trump is indicted for obstruction of justice and/or violating the Espionage Act (and at this point I feel certain that it's a matter of when, not if.)

As Trump’s Classified Documents Probe Wraps Up, Potential Charges Are Near
- Special Counsel could announce decision after Memorial Day
- Trump’s lawyers have asked for meeting with Attorney General

Quote
Special Counsel Jack Smith is wrapping up his investigation into former president Donald Trump’s refusal to return classified documents after his election defeat and is poised to announce possible criminal charges in the days or weeks after Memorial Day, according to people familiar with the matter.

As Smith’s team winds down the classified documents probe, a separate inquiry into efforts by Trump and his allies to overturn the 2020 election continues, according to four people familiar with the matter who asked not to be identified discussing a confidential inquiry.

Trump’s associates believe the Justice Department’s investigation into documents taken from the White House after he left office is close to the end, said one of the people, but they don’t know if charges will be brought against the former president or anyone else.

Any indictments resulting from the roughly year-long investigation must be approved by Attorney General Merrick Garland and a federal grand jury.

Because I understand that Republicans' permanent state of reality denial can lead to problems with their reading comprehension and recall, I'll repost this from last September as a refresher:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/sep/06/donald-trump-mar-a-lago-documents-nuclear-weapons-report
Quote
The FBI recovered a document describing a foreign government’s nuclear capabilities during its search of Mar-a-Lago, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday.

The Post, citing unnamed sources, did not identify the foreign government named in the document describing the country’s military defenses.
Quote
Among the records recovered by the FBI were documents detailing top-secret US operations that require special clearances “on a need-to-know basis”, beyond a top-secret clearance, according to the Post report. Some of the Biden administration’s most senior national security officials were not authorized to review some of the documents because they are so restricted, the Post said.

There's also these, from this week:
https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/25/politics/trump-mar-a-lago-documents/index.html
Quote
Two employees of Donald Trump moved boxes of papers at Mar-a-Lago a day before the Justice Department visited the former president’s residence to collect classified documents , The Washington Post reported Thursday.

The Post, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that investigators view the timing – just before FBI agents and a prosecutor visited the Florida resort to recover the documents sought as part of a subpoena – as a potential sign of obstruction.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/may/26/trump-classified-documents-workers-moved-boxes

Quote
Federal prosecutors have evidence Donald Trump showed classified documents to people, the Washington Post reported on Thursday, citing unnamed sources, as the investigation into his handling of national security materials and obstruction of justice approaches its conclusion.

The development could raise the stakes for the former president as it exposes him to serious action under the Espionage Act, of wilfully communicating national security materials rather than simply retaining them, which is rarely charged

Former President Donald Trump's legal team has formally requested a meeting with Attorney General Merrick Garland, amid fears from his attorneys that the coming weeks could bring a possible indictment of Trump regarding his alleged efforts to retain materials after leaving office and to obstruct the government's attempts to retrieve them.

The letter, though thin on details, was sent so Trump's lawyers could present arguments that Trump should not be charged in the investigation related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents, sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News.

Here's the letter:

What kind of Clownish lawyers (law firm), would produce such a tasteless and unprofessional letter to the Attorney General of the United States? I mean, to include Biden's "son Hunter" and all that hogwash in there, is just embarrassing.
Do these people have no shame?

The recording indicates Trump understood he retained classified material after leaving the White House, according to multiple sources familiar with the investigation. On the recording, Trump’s comments suggest he would like to share the information but he’s aware of limitations on his ability post-presidency to declassify records, two of the sources said.

That would directly undercut his claim that he declassified everything on the way out or it was automatically declassified under a standing order.

At this point I think the chances of Trump being indicted for both obstruction of justice and violating the Espionage Act are approaching 100%.

Blue avatars that don't even make 100K and own a 500K home thru inheritance were happy the two worse Rs got elected
