Yes, it would be a good thing for this country to recognize indigenous people. The Voice was also an advisory body and not-binding, so none of the slippery slope arguments of the “No” side hold any credence.

No, people must never become entitled to special conditions of citizenship on account of race.

The last thing Indian Country needs is more official reinforcement of the idea that Native peoples are a monolith.

Depends on whether the tribes endorse it or not.

Absolutely Not. The last thing this country's Native American population needs is some toothless time wasting organization that would just be filled to the brim with professional activists and fringe academics (in other words busy body malcontents).

Yes, but I would criticize it in the same way I and a lot of other socialists have criticized the initiative and campaign of the non-binding councils regarding the police in Seattle and Chicago.

It may be mostly worthless and a waste of resources campaigning better spent elsewhere, but now is not the time for that criticism when there could—in the case of Chicago is—be of some benefit.

Honest answer: Nothing that I've read from advocates or in the news media gives me a clear idea of what VOICE actually does, so I would vote no for that reason.

If I were actually eligible to vote, I would probably take the time to educate myself on the legal realities - of course, I am not, and I have not, and I have no idea in whom to place my trust on the subject.

In the absence of detail, it sounds like another pointless and powerless committee that would probably come with a bunch of white collar make-work jobs for support staff. No, thank you.
