How do you think the 2000 election would have turned out with former California governor and senator Pete Wilson as the Republican nominee? Does he win against Al Gore? Who would have been his vice presidential pick?

Wasn't he pro-choice? Very unlikely the GOP would have nominated him.

Otherwise, at least FL is actually called for Gore and therefore the election. I don't think Wilson would have won any state W didn't.

Wilson was a mess. Have to wonder if the Enron scandal would happen earlier with Democrats looking for dirt on him. He would probably lose Tennessee in this scenario if not for Frist.
