You’ll notice that an aspiring aviator, Carl, and a girl in overalls, Ellie, are friends in 1940.

They eventually marry. But Ellie passes away before the events of Up that took place in 2009 when the movie came out.

People predict that Ellie died five years before the events, which would be 2004.

As for Carl, his actor died in 2021. Characters have been retired because of their actor dying. If this were to happen to him, he would die in 2021.

This would make Ellie’s death year, 2004, and Carl’s death year, 2021, the same as those of Ronald Reagan and Walter Mondale respectively! Both of them even live to 93.

Ellie doesn’t even live to near that. Lower 70s, that’s it. She died before the mainstream events of Up.

Which by the way is universally regarded as one of the most emotional movie moments of any movie from any company since the invention of television in 1927!

Carl was just about as old. He was born in either 1929 or 1930, making him live to 91 or 92. In fact, Ed Asner was born in 1929!

The real important question is, how would they voted in Presidential elections?

A series of facts, and I'm not sure how "fun" they are?

The earliest they'd be able to vote in is either the 1948 election or the 1952 election.

Honestly, I’m surprised that Ellie died in 2004.

If she were real, she’d probably live much longer, still be alive by the events of Up in 2009.

I don't understand the reasoning here. A lot of people pass away in their early 70s.

She seemed enthusiastic.
