https://patch.com/minnesota/minneapolis/did-minnesota-just-accidentally-legalize-thc-laced-edibles

Quote
Sen. Jim Abeler, a Republican from Anoka, said he didn't realize the new law would legalize edibles containing delta-9 THC before it passed.

Abeler chairs the Senate Human Services Reform Finance and Policy Committee.

"I thought we were doing a technical fix, and it winded up having a broader impact than I expected," Abeler told the Star Tribune's Ryan Faircloth. He said lawmakers should consider undoing the law.

LOL. But yeah this passed a Republican Senate because they didn't read the bill basically.

Amusing map by the way:

Couldn’t Walz veto the overturn? Is he even in favor of legalization?

It's weird to realize that Minnesota legalized recreational edibles (whether or not accidentally) before Maryland.

It wasn't really by accident because it's what the House and Walz wanted, it's just that the Republicans in the Senate got the bill and were like "OK sure whatever" and passed it without bothering to read it or see what was in it. This bill passed unanimously in both chambers.

Pretty much all Republican state legislators are braindead sacks of meat that can't do anything more than press the 'YES' or 'NO' button based on what ALEC and lobbyists tell them to do.

Of course they screwed this up.

Recreational Population:
153,341,488 (46.36%)
244 EVs (45.35%)

If Maryland votes in favor this November and Ohio does the same next year, a majority of both EVs & people will reside in states where recreational marijuana is legal.

I mean, to be fair, maybe this is a correct position to take? Most of the harm from cannabis that its critiques can point at comes from the smoking and vaping processes themselves. Eating a pot brownie, whose that ever hurt?

Minnesota Republicans actually being based? Lmao.

From a survival standpoint the Legal Marijuana Now party should hope marijuana doesn’t actually get legalized. If it does it’ll fade into total irrelevance.
