For some reason, if I ever become wealthy enough that I could afford multiple cars or something; I've usually gravitated towards convertibles. I'd love to have a Mazda MX-5 or a similar car some day.

Beyond that, I've also usually liked the usual German luxury trio of Mercedes/Audi/BMW (less so for BMW lately though); as well as Porsche.

Stuff like Ferrari, Lamborghini and what not to me seems excessive, unwieldy and useless in most circumstances; Porsche is really as high-end/luxury as I'd be willing to go.
almost exactly this.  The idea of driving a 600 hp, $300k car every day seems like a chore and dangerous.

If I had excessive money I would have:
1.new Miata as my daily driver
2.whatever the best sport SUV is at the time for daily driving with others
3.3rd Gen RX7 for when I want to look cool
4.a heavily modded WRX for winter daily driving
I'd have more, but that's all a super rich dead0man would need.  The rest would be old RX7s, older British roadsters and maybe a beater pick up truck.

edit-forgot to mention my toy....a first gen Miata (with the pop up headlights) with an LS swap.  That's the car that will kill rich dead0man.
