Thomas has a more inspiring life story but I agree philosophically more with Alito than Thomas

Thomas's concurring opinion in Dobbs is quite a bit better than Alito's opinion for the "majority." Thomas does seem to know how to interpret the Due Process Clause, whereas Alito doesn't.

I also appreciated Thomas's dissenting opinion in Lawrence v. Texas.

On the other hand, I will never, ever forgive Clarence Thomas for being one-of-five in Bush v. Gore, and I'm sure that Alito would have done the same thing, so neither of them is as near-perfect as the great Justice Hugo Black.

sus

Anyway, I respect Thomas more if only because it seems he has an actual judicial philosophy underpinning his awful opinions. Alito is just a hack, and one of the dullest legal minds on the court at that.

Thomas is a sexual harasser, while Alito appears to have a scandal free personal life. Thomas is also the laziest justice on the Court while Alito must have done something to get the Dobbs opinion. And Alito so far doesn't have a 1/6 scandal either. Both vote the same but Alito surely is more respectable.

The reasons for Pericles' choice directly precede that sentence.

But would you prefer someone who's smart and evil, or dumb and evil? Huh

At least the smart one will be somewhat predictable.

Alito seems to be more like Scalia while Thomas is literally the most right wing justice since 1937 and Thomas probably is the only one on the court who would strike down Filburn and wipe out the modern expanded commerce clause as well .

Alito. He may be a hack, but Thomas still somehow manages to be more reactionary plus Alito doesn't have the conflict of interest that Thomas has in the form of his seditious, wack job of a wife.
