It's still beyond my comprehension how one can go from "America's mayor" to one of the most pathetic public individuals of the entire country.
Because the "America's Mayor" branding was always a creation of the white media. Giuliani was always a crazy lunatic.
He was - but whether justified or not - had a good reputation before Trump announced his candidacy in 2015.
Again had a good reputation with who? The white media and 9/11 sycophants who wanted to cast heroes. Rudy was one of the most polarizing mayors in the history of New York City and would have got trounced in a Senate run.
I feel guilty and ashamed for falling for that back in the day. Hell, a lot of us petrified New Jersey residents did. But I think most of us learned our lesson after his absolute embarrassment of a presidential run. Hell, his entire existence has been an embarrassment in hindsight.
