2. William A. O'Neill (D-Hartford). He succeeded the previous governor, Ella Grasso, when she resigned due to health problems.
3. Associate Justice Antonin Scalia, confirmed September 17, 1986.
4. Both Connecticut and Fairfield County went for Ronald Reagan (R-CA).
5. In the House, Stewart McKinney (R-Fairfield). My two senators were Chris Dodd (D-Willimantic) and future governor of Connecticut Lowell Weicker (R-Greenwich, later I).
