Alright,
I just want to pay a tribute to muaddib who has been a fantastic ally and to laki who has delivered a STELLAR PERFORMANCE in playing the red Napoleon in trying to implement the concept of permanent revolution.

Just want to give a comment on how well Devout Centrist played as Emperor Hirohito.

If it weren't for the fact that FDR's probably on death row, or at least unable to communicate with the outside world, I might have considered having a jailhouse statement from him to mark Hirohito's presumed death.

My sincere thanks to DC, Laki and Muaddib for their excellent performances as Japan, the USSR and Romania. I hope you will all continue playing, you have done much to make the game what it is.

I'm taking a two-day pause, so we resume on Wednesday. People can claim Japan and the USSR - or other nations - until tomorrow. Midturn headlines on Tuesday after we select the new cast.

For the record, I just want to be clear I didn't leave the discord Channel because I was having a meltdown. It's just this was undermining my sleep to check all the Time the Channel 😅

To be fair it IS the sensible thing to do; its the same conclusion I came to when I was playing Spain. Better to keep Lliga and PNV from overt hostility so the leftists can waste time squabbling with them rather than uniting against the center. Not sure the Spanish hard right who thought Gil Robles was too weak for them will appreciate it though.

My congratulations to YPestis for his - as usual - very skilled performance. Still writing the end turn, but we will need a new France for the 1940 turn.

The new French player is meant to play President Petain, but he could also pick his chosen Premier in the understanding that he will have to contend with a powerful president.

As much as I'd like to play as France, I think I'm going to wait and see if there's a game over for Borah in 1940.

Granted!

Will it be Petain or a chosen Premier?

I have had a few things that have popped up IRL that are quite concerning. I may have to quit.

That would be a shame but understandable.

Postponing this for Monday night, so a bit over 48 hours left. Midturn will include military stuff for the first half of the year.
