It would probably gin up turn out, maybe help the Rs out slightly, but do v little to change the fundamentals I think unless the GOP makes "freeing" him the ethos of their campaign, and I think they are prolly too smart to do that (he would def post bail and stay at maralago till trial anyway lol)

It would probably juice up turnout on both sides. Net wash, maybe it slightly helps Republicans.

I really don’t get why it’d help Republicans, most people don’t like Trump and it’ll force Republicans to take the side of him or law enforcement *again* when most of them are doing all they can to distance themselves from him.

We have had seven years now of Trump is going down takes. They have largely been driven by GOP operatives trying to placate moderate/center-left/left wing individuals into a soothing state of complacency, all while we descend into fascism and institutions falter.

Aka, the whole premise of this thread is pointless since this will never happen in a million years.
