Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem win the 2024 Presidential election against President Biden, winning 342–196 electoral votes and narrowly scoring the popular vote. The congressional elections see the GOP strengthening the House majority to near Dem-'08 levels and winning the senate 54–46 after narrowly failing to gain it in '22

✓ Governor Ron DeSantis (R-SD) / Governor Kristi Noem (R-AR): 342 EV.
President Joe Biden (D-DE) / Vice President Kamala Harris (D-CA): 196 EV.

Actions done under the DeSantis administration include:

Federal Abortion Ban

Nationwide "Right to Work" bill

Obamacare repeal

Dissolution of the Department of Education

Sent troops back into Afghanistan
after the Taliban claimed to have committed a Terrorist bombing in Kansas City during the World Cup in June 2026

Tax Raise on low-income Americans based on Rick Scott's 11 point plan

Continued construction of the border wall, naming it after Donald Trump

Executive Order illegalizing the burning of the American flag, with a punishment not to exceed one year in Prison

Federal Transgender Bathroom and Sports ban (also reinstatement of the Military ban)

Begins the process of sunsetting Medicare and Social Security by 2030, also based on Scott's plan

the 2026 Midterms sees the Democrats take landslide victories in the House that are comparable to that of the GOP in 2010, winning a majority of governships and state legislatures and gain a 51–49 majority in the Senate, winning NC, ME, TX, AK and even KS by margins comparable to that of FL '18. The mid to late 2020s sees the Democratic Party in general take a more progressive stance.

the 2028 GOP Primaries see a surprisingly strong challenge against DeSantis from former congressman Adam Kinzinger, who would ultimately lose the nomination, but did manage to win a couple of states

Meanwhile on the Democratic side, California Senator Katie Porter (who was elevated from the House after the death of DiFi in 2023) won the Democratic nomination after a fierce battle against former Vice President Kamala Harris, New York Representative AOC, and Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman (the latter of whom would be her running mate)

Porter runs on a progressive platform that includes Medicare for All (albeit willing to implement a public option should that fail), a minimum wage increase, guaranteed paid leave, nationwide legalization of cannabis, education reform, immigration reform, a wealth tax, a green new deal, Abortion rights, passage of the Equality Act and even Universal Basic Income

Bonus points if you describe how the congressional elections play out, and provide an electoral college map

DeSantis becomes unpopular, though Porter is also unpopular, and not-so-insignificant amount of voters cast their ballots for third parties or sit out the election

Porter wins somewhat comfortably. Downballot Democrats outperform the top of the ticket

I really hope DeSantis never gets to the White House. I would easily support Porter.
