Assume these are the major tickets and assume this is the first election with this system as well:

Republican: Marco Rubio/Scott Walker

Democratic: Hillary Clinton/Tim Kaine

Progressive: Bernie Sanders/Elizabeth Warren

America First: Donald Trump/Paul LePage

Libertarian: Rand Paul/Justin Amash

Independent: Michael Bloomberg/Joe Manchin

I assume the top-two ends up being Clinton/Trump with Clinton narrowly coming on top since there's no spoilers. The first round results would be interesting though.

It'd probably end up being Clinton vs. Trump, with Clinton winning by a respectable margin. The difference here is that since Trump came in second, it wakes up previously apathetic Dems and left-leaning voters to the very real possibility that he could actually win.

I basically agree with everyone else on this. Which makes me think the French system is superior. Of course, most systems are superior to the Electoral College.

As a Brazilian, I agree.

One third of our political parties wouldn't exist in the US though.

Probably still Trump.

People are really underestimating the lengths Putin was willing to go to ensure that Trump won.
