Remarkably sane for a Mississippi Republican.

About as good as you can get for having "(R-MS)" next to your name.

Tolerable, but I still hope he retires so Mike Moore can take his seat in '08.

Pretty much agree.  Don't like the guy and he is very conservative, but considering the party and the state, it could be much worse (such as his counterpart or some of the GOP pres from that state)

I don't like that he voted against the bill banning prison torture, but he's not as bad as others in his region.

Time did list him as one of "America's 10 Best Senators." Highly justified.  Glad to see he voted for the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act.

BTW: Who were the other 9 listed? I know Kennedy and Snowe were some of them on that list.

An excellent Senator from Mississippi, and certainly one of the best Republicans from the South in Congress.  Would like Mike Moore to take his seat upon his retirement though.

Good guy.  Ten billion times the man Lott can dream of being.

I still want him gone and replaced by a Democrat come January 2009 though.

Snowe, Kennedy, Levin, Durbin, Kyl, McCain, Conrad, Specter, and Lugar. A good list overall.
