- 35 years old (!!!)
- DC Circuit Nominee
- HLS Graduate (Magna Cum Laude)
- SCOTUS Clerk (Kagan)
- Former O'Melveny Partner
- Deputy Assistant AG in DOJ's OLC

Assuming he is confirmed, I'd keep an eye on him the next time Dems have the opportunity to fill a SCOTUS vacancy. It seems like he's been appointed as a long-term investment- as he'd still be younger than KBJ 16 years from now.

Don't know much about his ideology, but he has all the right gold stars.

Seems like he could be a future Sotamayor replacement in 15 years. As you’ve said, he has basically every qualification for it and experience on the District of Columbia circuit will only add to that.

I made a post very recently about that vacancy. I'm stunned with this pick. It's a grand slam. I don't think even Trump went that young with a circuit court nominee.

We also got a nominee for the Louisiana seat vacancy on the Fifth Circuit.

If Biden gets just the circuit court judges he's nominated confirmed, he'd be at 30. If he gets more, even better, but I think anything more than 30 would be record-setting for two years (apart from Carter, who presided over an expansion of the federal judiciary).

For anybody else who's cool, don't miss his confirmation hearing: the Miguel Estrada drinking game will be something else.

I'm guessing they won't bring up Justin Walker?

Also, I'm getting annoyed that Andre Mathis hasn't come up for a vote yet.

Lol let's see the next time the Dems have (1) the presidency, (2) a vacancy & (3) the Senate majority because nowadays we need all 3 to get a Justice in...

He's way younger than Walker, and even younger than Rushing. IIRC he is the youngest nominee to a circuit court ever since Edith Jones.

He's 35, Walker was 37. Don't think that's way younger.
