I'm going to India for two months in a few days so my opinion will probably turn sour but I love it.

I've heard it a million times before, bruh.

Me:  "xtra extra extra SPICY vindaloo please."

Them:  "Sir...sir..sir.., are you sure?"

Me:  "I've eaten carolina reaper salsa that would make your goddamn Hindu gods toes curl, son.  Do NOT EVER question me, madrachod"

Freedom (normal, British)

Macho spiciness is cringe though. I usually order a lamb bhuna or dopiaza.

British spin-offs of Indian cuisine are far better than the food that they actually eat on the subcontinent and there’s the truth of it.

I love Naan bread, Biryani, Butter Chicken and Poppadums.

The traditional desserts from southern Asia can be pretty mega.

My favourite dessert is black rice in yoghurt from Thailand.

I get that and then dowse it in milk...... excruciatingly nice.

Love it.

But Indian food actually in India is nothing like Indian restaurants in the US.

It also really varies by region.

If I could only eat one type of cuisine for the rest of my life, it would be Indian. It's impossible to get tired of it, and the sheer variety is unmatched except by China.

Excellent in all regards except dessert, which is woefully disappointing compared to the rest of the cuisine

I've never been a fan.  The types of spices and flavoring used doesn't appeal to me for whatever reason and I can never quite stand the aroma.

I'm going to India for two months

You are lucky. I was able to do just this in 2019 (in fact, at a very similar date, too), but haven't been able to go to India since because of COVID. (On the bright side, my grandparents are visiting from India right now.)

Glad to see Indian food get appreciated. Anyway, obviously massive freedom food. My favourite cuisine might be Mexican, though.

Disagree. Jalebis and gulab jamuns are delicious, and I say this as someone who doesn't have much of a sweet tooth at all.

Yes, and it’s excellent. But it’s harder to find so I usually just settle for lassi as “dessert”.

Some of the best meals of my life have been Indian takeouts, back home at the end of a long day, either as a reward for making it through a day volunteering, or recouping 1,000 calories after a day hiking in the Munros.

Unrivalled cuisine.
