Using President Elect ( http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=839 ) and the following settings

Carter/Mondale v. Ford/Dole v. Jesse Jackson/Arkansas VP

30% inflation, 25% unemployment, -10 economy, 1 morale

Jackson actually wins states, and wins the election a few times if the scenario is simmed. One of the times I stood in as Ford (and did no campaigning), Jackson started with a huge lead, and then lost 345/195 (48% Carter, 45% Jackson).

Then again, President Elect makes Carter, Ford, and Jackson weak candidates.
