I will consider this nominee on his own merits because I believe in legislative duty and defense of the Constitution over partisanship.

I think he is well qualified right out of the gate, though.

I'd like to thank the President for appointing me to this role, the Vice President for opening this hearing and Peebs for doing a great job as Registrar General for several years.

I have a lot of experience in administrative roles in Atlasia. I was Deputy GM for several months, I was also Speaker of the House for 6 months. I've also moderated many debates and was Debate Moderator when that was an office for a while. I think that my experience demonstrates that I can maintain the voter rolls dilligently and impartially.

I thank the Senate for considering me and am happy to answer any questions.

The nominee's previous qualifications are obviously not in doubt and I'm happy he set an example for active leadership back when he was Speaker, one that I had to look up to for obvious reasons.

I do have a question about your activity however – we haven't seen much of you since the last months of 2020, no doubt for very good reasons, and RG is of course a fairly high-maintenance job and requires you to be on every week to keep track of people's registrations to boot. What are your current activity levels, potential RL concerns regarding those and do you foresee any significant disruptions to your ability to carry out the job in the short or medium term?

Thank you Senator, its certainly a reasonable question to ask. I don't post often so I might appear less active than I actually am. I use the forum very regularly and while I've taken a break from Atlasia since late 2020, I've not disappeared either. I've voted in every election and generally followed events. I should be able to regularly keep track of registrations and I don't have any reason to foresee any signficant disruptions in my work.

I obviously have real life responsibilities too and there will be times where it will be more of a strain than other times but I can work around them as I've done in the past. I realise the importance of the office I've been appointed to - I wouldn't be happy to simply hold the office for the sake of it and not be doing my job properly.

Thanks, I'm happy to work with the SoFE. The only thing I ask is that Battista or any future SoFE publishes their work like Peebs has done because that would make it much easier to find out who has fallen off the rolls after a federal election. If Battista needs help, I'm happy to help him check over things or find any information he needs.

Just so we're on the same page, I believe you're refering to the securing our elections officers amendment?

I support the amendment. It is important that the president can't just hijack the voter rolls and election administration. The RG and SoFE are very important offices and should be enshrined into the constitution.
