The Confederate Battle Flag is a flag that notably symbolizes hate and racism. The flag represented the army of a “country” founded in the “right” to own black people. Alexander Stephens once said  regarding race in 1861 as VP, “Our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite idea; its foundations are laid, its corner-stone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery subordination to the superior race is his natural and normal condition. “  What is your opinion on burning the Confederate Battle Flag?

You should be able to burn anything you want, from the US flag to a pile of holy books as long as:
1.it's for free speech reasons
2.you didn't steal the items
3.I'd prefer you follow safety and environmental laws (and good sense) when you do it, but that's not as important as the first two

<it probably shouldn't be legal to burn things that are extremely bad for the environment just for free speech reasons, but I'd be willing to look at it on a case by case basis.  If your burning harms other people, you should be punished for that.>

No, because that would deflect attention from burning Russian flags.

Burning the U.S. flag should be legal, burning the Confederate flag should be mandatory.

This is 100% correct.

People should be allowed to burn any CSA Flag they come across. Racist southern culture needs to be stamped out from public spaces and things funded with federal tax dollars.

The Confederate flag enjoys no special status or legal recognition, so I don't see a problem with burning it.

No, because that would deflect attention from burning Russian flags.

We should just throw them all into a cow sh**t fueled pyre.

If you paint the stars blue you can burn both a Confederate and Russian flag at the same time

Obvious answer is no.

Civilized people don't burn flags... or books, or anything else for that matter.  They talk and use their words.

I approve of people's right to burn it, but let's not pretend that it's impressive or brave to do at all. I find it both exhausting and kind of hilarious how powerful of a statement the left thinks it is to say that the Confederacy was bad.

Considering about 1/4 of the country is pro-Confederacy, it is a pretty powerful statement.
