I have been reading a few biographies of turn-of-20th-century politicians and a consistent barometer of campaign strength in the days before scientific polling were bookmakers' odds. Is there any central repository for this data? Where are historians and biographers pulling it from?

(It may just have been a New York thing, admittedly. I've just finished Morris's Roosevelt trilogy and am on Jean Edward Smith's FDR. But I feel like I can recall it applying to other politicians and possibly to oddsmakers in other states, particularly Boston.)
