We already have regions though, why do we need new ones?

Well, see, the whole point of regions is to be immutable.  And actually, your regions look somewhat better, but they seem a little too equal for regions...  Maybe if you put KY and VA in the green region and the plains states in the Midwestern one, they will at the same time be less equal and prettier.  But I definitely would support redrawing the regions, from a purely aesthetic point of view.

I see no reason to change the regions.

The south has to stay the same. That is the traditional south, and they have to stay united. Wink

The problem is in real life the U.S. has seven "regions": New England, Mid Atlantic, South, Midwest, Plains, Mountain, and Pacific, with the status of Arizona and New Mexico iffy.

As there has been no activity on this amendment for 10 days, I hereby apply a legislative freeze upon the amendment while other bills are considered and voted upon. After one month the amendment shall be reconsidered and either return to debate or removed from the Senate floor unless the Senator who proposed this wants to withdraw it himself before then.

I actually like Josh's idea.  I think it would help maintain some regional continuity in redistricting.

Grin

Yes, Josh's idea is very good, plus it keeps Senators from drawing their own district.
