I'm just curious after reading a statistic that about half of British bachelors only change their bedding each four months (!). Which is almost incomprehensible for me.

Voted each second week, though in summer time it's mostly once a week. But two weeks is the absolute maximum.

Very infrequently, because I have almost nothing.

If I'm washing, I might well have have no bedding until everything's dry.

Once every two weeks, although I have a separate set too so I only have to wash it once per month.

I mean these people hate brushing their teeth too, so not actually that surprising.

What happens if you don’t change your bedding?

It's unhygienic, like if you wore the same clothes daily. Think of how you sweat on your sheets and all the grease from your hair that gets in your pillow case.

if you happen to bring home a potential sexual partner, it might be a deal breaker.

Once per week, my wife pretty much insisted on that for while. I did so each 14 days as bacherlor, as thought by my mother.

About once every two weeks.  The secret is to have multiple sheet sets/duvet covers so you're never in the crunch of having to wash or go without bed linens.

Do you sit on your bed all day? It only takes a couple hours to wash and dry.

Uhm....if you have a full-time job and can't hang out at home all day during the week then you're pretty much limited to doing all your washing on Sat/Sun.  If your sheets dirty during the week just throw them in the hamper, replace with the fresh ones from the closet, and then do the washing as you normally would on the weekend.

Only a pleb would have one set of bed linens anyway

That's only the case if your sheets get so exceptionally dirty during the week you can't just wait to wash them until you do your laundry anyway.

I don't sweat AT ALL during the night.  And I take showers in the mornings.  Nor do I have "greasy hair" or greasy anything.  So washing your bedding every 4 months sounds absolutely reasonable.

For me, I exchange out my linens two or three times a year.   I've always lived in furnished "corporate" apartments for over the past decade across 2 continents, so changing out my linens is simply placing a phone call or sending out a quick email to the front office.

I have no idea why anyone would be sweating like hogs and drenching/stinking their sheets at night, but damn.  That sounds to me like SERIOUS underlying health problems.

But then again, I chug literally a gallon of water a day, and it's equally shocking to me when I see others who barely touch the stuff.
