Georgia might not be the exact worst but they're at the bottom for a lot of statistics, like the rest of the Republican-controlled Deep South.

That’s like blaming labor for why northern England is a sh**t hole

Generally speaking, every nation in the world has an area that is at the bottom of National well being

In America, it’s the south

In Germany, it’s east Germany

In the uk, its the north

In Italy, it’s the south

Etc

TFW she only has a chance BECAUSE of all the out-of-state transplants who evidently think Georgia is a pretty good place to live.

Japan has the North, china has the-provincial-interiors-where-they-don't-want-you-to-go, and, well, I'm not sure what part of Korea would fit this.

I seriously can not understand how this disaster of a candidate got labeled the Democrats' biggest rising star in 2018.

Warnock will win and Abrams will lose.

Such an outcome is quite possible, but I still think it's more likely both lose. Even if this comment has some bearing in reality, saying this won't help her.

Warnock will win and Abrams will lose.

I think he'll definitely out-perform her but both will lose.

Will either of them go to a runoff or do they both lose outright on November 8?

I think Kemp will probably win outright at this point. Walker-Warnock could go to a runoff, but I think that would favor Walker.

Trump became President for pretty much saying exactly this...hell the whole "Make America Great Again" shtick is premised on this.

She won't lose because of this specifically.

Is what she's saying so wrong though? She said how GA is nearly last in every metric, and the point she's making is clear. Anyone who was possibly open to voting for her likely at least somewhat agrees with that if they're not a Kemp fan and what he's doing to the state..

Georgia isn't even close to the worst state to live in among its own neighbors.

Putting aside how absurd that makes her look, it indicates that Georgia is winning an uphill battle against entrenched geographic factors—which is a credit to its government and leading citizens.

edit: I don't actually think Abrams's comments are so crazy that it's worth commenting on, but it's clearly wrong. I guess we need something to talk about in what's going to be a boring Kemp win.

That's pretty lazy logic.  By that logic, anyone who feels compelled to criticize something should just leave/not tolerate it any longer rather than trying to make it better.

Would you rather live in Atlanta or anywhere in Alabama or Mississippi?

The S is behind the times, it's behind the times in terms of Voting Rights as most red states are that's also what she is referring to

This times 1000. When someone tells me something like this, I am deeply insulted. They are telling me that they are better than me.

After she loses this election, I wonder if she'll immediately go for President a la Beto.

I still believe she can win, especially with a high minority and youth turnout.  Atlanta continues to grow and the state continues to tilt more blue as it grows.

She's definitely one of those politicians though who can walk between the raindrops of the national Democratic problems and "localize" the race with the "wow" factor she seems to have with young voters vs. the old, out of touch look of the incumbent governor.

TBD.

This is rough, man. I don't like Abrams on a personal level, but I'd much rather have her in the governor's mansion than Kemp. That said, she is really not doing herself any favors with stuff like this. She just doesn't have any political instincts. I can't believe the bench of Democratic candidates in Georgia is this week.
