I believe he definitely would have won. Not by a huge margin, but a 5-8 point win I could see.

I don't believe he would have, largely because:

A. Even downballot races have gotten more polarized in recent years.
B. Trump almost certainly would have endorsed his opponent, and in a state like Mississippi, where undecided voters lean Republican that would be enough to flip the seat/

No I think he narrowly goes down. I know we’re citing Edwards here but Fitch is an undoubtedly stronger candidate than Rispone was. Also Edwards would have probably lost if the race were a one-on-one in October.
