SAIL GRAND PRIX
BREAKING NEWS
KPMG ANNOUNCED AS OFFICIAL EVENT SPONSOR OF THE AUSTRALIA SAIL GRAND PRIX
Source: SAIL GP/AUSTRALIA SAIL GP TEAM

AMANDA HICKS, KPMG National Managing Partner for Client Experience & Brand:

„KPMG’s sponsorship of the world class SailGP event for the second year in a row is about reflecting the importance of taking positive action for climate and protecting the environment. SailGP highlights how we can continue to challenge ourselves in nature, and also harness significant technology solutions for a better sport and a better planet. This is the kind of environmentally friendly sport, experience, and innovation that our firm supports and celebrates towards a climate positive future.“

TOM SLINGSBY, CEO & Driver Australia Sail GP Team:

„It’s pretty incredible to see how fast SailGP has grown into a world renowned sporting event in only three seasons, and with well respected brands like KPMG coming on board as partners for the Australian event, it only cements this fact.
We are all very excited about returning home again to race on Sydney Harbour and I think it will be our best event yet. With nine F50’s lined up and racing for the first time here in Sydney, it will be a sporting spectacle not to be missed.“

CHRIS GILBERT, Managing Director of IMG Australia and New Zealand:

„We are delighted to extend the valued partnership with KPMG and showcase their credentials as a leader in sustainability and technology. This partnership highlights the impressive marketing value of the SailGP program and will ultimately help the sport expand its growth profile, alongside its well-defined ESG and technology mission.“

STATEMENT BY SIR BEN AINSLIE, Co-Owner & Driver of the Great Britain SailGP Team:

„We were training just outside the racecourse boundary and unfortunately hit an unmarked rock. We sustained a lot of damage to the starboard rudder, daggerboard and board casing.

We reviewed the damage ashore and unfortunately it has put us out of this event, which is a difficult call for the team. Incidents like this are tough but that’s sport, you’re going to have these moments and the teams that keep their heads up are the ones that come back stronger and that’s what we are going to do.

We appreciate all the support from the SailGP Tech Team to retrieve the boat and help repair the damage ready for racing in Saint-Tropez next month.“

FRANCE SAIL GRAND PRIX SAINT-TROPEZ PRESENTED BY RANGE ROVER
DAY 2
SAIL GP'S SUPER SUNDAY FORMAT EXPLAINED
Source: SAIL GP

Statement by Sail GP Regatta Director IAIN MURRAY:

„From the Range Rover France Sail Grand Prix onwards, it is our intention to increase the number of fleet races in a regatta from five to six. This means that we will add a third fleet race on the second race day before the Final.

The overall priority is to hold the Final at the end of a regatta, which means fleet races not started may be removed from the schedule and races in progress may be abandoned if required in order to achieve this. To complete the Final and wrap up the broadcast requires at least 15 minutes. If a fleet race is to be eliminated, the race committee will endeavor to give teams as much advance warning as possible.

On days where three or fewer races are scheduled, races will be stopped after 16 minutes. On days where more than three races are scheduled, races will be stopped after 14 minutes. On days with four races scheduled, the maximum start time delay that may be requested by a team is five minutes.“

BREAKING NEWS
SAIL GP SEASON 4 SCHEDULE REVEALED
Source: SAILGP
Source: SAILGP

SAIL GP ORGANIZERS today unveiled their Season 4 Schedule with many Cities that have been visited during Season 2 and 3 being on tap for Season 4 again.
Season 4 will start on June 17/18 2023 with the T-MOBILE UNITED STATES SAIL GRAND PRIX in the Leagues 2nd Visit to Chicago and will span over 14 Events in 14 Months ending on July 13/14 2024 on a Venue that has yet to be determined. There is a strong possibility of a 1st ever Event in CANADA during the late Spring/early Summer of 2024.

Statement by Sail GP CEO RUSSELL COUTTS:

„Halfway through our Season 3 calendar, we are delighted to be sufficiently advanced with our venue procurement process to announce our Season 4 schedule. With the aim to have fourteen events and an impressive list of some of the world's most iconic cities and destinations, SailGP continues its rapid expansion.

“We believe we now have a really compelling sporting calendar and i’m extremely proud to see us returning to many of our existing venues for this season – highlighting the strong commercial demand for our events around the world with our existing host cities and title partners recognizing the benefits SailGP brings – as well as welcoming some new cities and partners as part of our extended Season 4 calendar.“
