They should have had a lot more sites, putting 1 game in each state that has an appropriate stadium big enough to host one. Spread that economic output all across the country.

This isn’t feasible at all, you need more than a stadium and allot of crowd control and traffic prep. plus you know Mexico and Canada are a thing.

Anyway, I’m surprised that neither Chicago nor (especially) Montreal were on the list. I’d cut Seattle (because there is already Vancouver) and probably Boston for them.

I would have gone with a second Los Angeles Stadium (there's really no reason to not also have the Rose Bowl hosting games), Washington D.C, Chicago and Montreal, and cut Kansas City (not a big enough metro area), Seattle (Vancouver is literally right there) and Houston/Miami (holding World Cup games on the Gulf Coast/in Florida during Hurricane season seems like an unneeded risk).

Come on... the USSF wants to take care of the fans in the PNW since they've been a very solid supporter base for MLS and was never going to consider Vancouver, a backup host city in another country, to be a viable stand-in for Seattle. Now fans on both sides of the border there can have their pick of twice as many matches. Montreal and Chicago both withdrew bids, so as much as it sucks to not host games in those cities, it was a decision made by the local authorities.
