I want Babydog in Jim's official senate portrait like how Tommy Tuberville has the football. Hope that isn't too much to ask for.

Haha, yeah. Love him or hate him, Tuberville's Senate portrait is pretty cool.

Literally every Senate race in the country for 2024 will be Chuck Schumer vs. Mitch McConnell, same as the last several cycles. Doesn't matter how likeable they are, how they governed the state, any of that. A Manchin loss or retirement means 50-50 is all Democrats can realistically hope for, so I hope we're getting some old judges out of the way. If this and last year taught us anything, it's that the courts matter.

What a stupid, stupid ad. Can’t believe Joe Manchin dove in front of an agenda that could’ve helped people just so he could make a few oil barons richer and then lose to this friggin goofball.

To be fair, there's also a fair to middling chance of 51-49 if TX flips (by virtue of a good senatorial candidate and/or the state being close enough at the presidential level).

Went to the website on the signs to see what the big "gotcha" points are and it boils down to taking Covid seriously and opposing right to work. Wow, Mooney really is f--ked if that's all he's got.

Attacking your opponent for not being anti-union in... WV is really a strange thing to do.

Has Jim gained even more weight since he was elected in 2016? I stopped paying attention to him in 2017 after he switched back to Republican.

Obviously I've always known him to be huge, but nowadays -- highlighted by the Kilmeade interview -- he appears flat out massive.

Same, I knew he was heavier, but I was shocked when I saw how obese he was in the Fox News video.

It's worth noting Jim Justice was a Dixiecrats not a Republican and he switched so he is a Republican but a Dixiecrats just like Jefferson was states rights

And there is 19 mnths and Manchin hasn't even declared yet, but if Manchin gets blanched so will Trump it's 2 percentage pts in blks in WV while Rs will lose MI, WInand PA because they only get 9 percentage blks vote

It was more blks during the sixties but they left WV to go to VA that's why VA is a blue state now and WVA is a red state

I just noticed his ties are way too long, which even tops Trump. Dude has enough money to spend a few bucks for a stylist, lol.

Now that Justice is formally in, I'd really be shocked to see Manchin even trying. According to Wikipedia, he plans announce his decision in December, so there's plenty of time. However, I can't imagine one being so delusional to believe this is remotely winnable.

I dunno, he seems delusional enough to think he could win. I wouldn't be surprised if he stands for reelection one more time, though he'll of course lose massively to Justice.

Who cares this is the only seat Rs have a chance in and remote in MT and we have MO and TX, Act blue texted me and forgoing Sinema and Manchin and sures up Gallego, Brown, Tester, Kunce and ALLRED, we don't know whom is running in FL

Manchin made his own bed like Sinema by voting against Filibuster reform

This seat is the same as OH Sen 2016 and  AL I
We can still win it but don't put a penny donation wise

Jim Justice was a Dixiecrats like Zell Miller and Robert C Byrd and Jefferson were but turned as an R so he may win due to being a D already

A 50-50 Senate without Manchin, Sinema, and Feinstein in it would be astronomically better than a 51-49 Senate including them.

Today’s poll suggests that the fundamentals are simply too much in this race even with Manchin. Daines should spend in Montana, Ohio, Nevada, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Texas before spending a dime here.

Justice Department announces a lawsuit against West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice’s coal empire, seeking more than $5 million in unpaid civil penalties and fees

Quote
Though Justice, a Republican, is not listed as a defendant in the lawsuit, his adult son who runs the family’s coal operations, James Justice III, and more than a dozen companies the family owns or operates are listed as defendants.

The companies, according to the Justice Department, repeatedly violated federal laws that oversee coal mine operations and failed to pay “uncontested” fines for those violations. The companies also ignored more than 50 orders to stop mining after violations were found to pose “health and safety risks” to workers or that threatened “environmental harm,” prosecutors say.

Justice goes after Justice.
