President Joe Biden retires from public life and the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination is up for grabs. Florida Sen. Val Demings defeats Vice President Kamala Harris in a fierce and feisty nomination battle. Demings becomes the first African American woman to be nominated as President by a major political party; she doubles down on history by picking Rep. Sharise Davids, the second Native American woman to be nominated as vice president by any political party....

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump runs again and wins the nomination; picking Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as his running mate.

Who wins?

Val Demings isn't beating Marco Rubio.

She probably could win the Democratic nomination against Harris even with the loss to Rubio on her record, but it would require the primary be head-to-head, and it would require Florida vote before one or both of Iowa and New Hampshire in the Primary process.

Also, Trump can't pick DeSantis as his running mate without moving back to New York or abandoning Florida's electoral votes and he won't do either. He'll pick someone else.
