Overview:

Prime Minister Morrison has just advised the Governor General to call an election, to be held on May 21. Although all party leaders were poised and prepared to spring into action, this is it: the 2022 Australian Federal Election.

Scott Morrison faces questions over his personnel management and his human relationships, as well as a period of economic malaise, severe flooding, and global strife. How will Morrison and the Liberals pitch themselves to the electorate for another mandate?

Anthony Albanese seems to be in the poll position but that can flip in a moment. One gaffe and the race could be back in a dead heat. He also faces questions of who he is, what he’s about, and what he’s going to do. Some worry he may fall into the trap Bill Shorten learned in 2019 of being overestimated in the polls and then falling flat when the ballot papers are counted. Will Albo deny ScoMo another go?

Barnaby Joyce resigned in 2018 over allegations in inappropriate relationship, after previously facing questions over his eligibility to be a Member of Parliament. Although he’s back now, where will his future lead? Can he expand the National Party’s platform and exert more influence in the Coalition and extract further climate concessions from the Liberals?

For Adam Bandt, Craig Kelly, Robbie Katter, and Pauline Hanson, it’s all the same goal: rise above a noisy “also-ran” and build a base of power. With Australia’s preferential election system, it can be hard for smaller parties to make gains. Can any of the four leaders find a strong base and snatch a seat or two away from the Coalition or Labor?

Albanese opens Labor Campaign

Quote
Today, I am announcing that with the call for the election-finally-I am launching the 2022 campaign for the Australian Labor Party!

This current government is a disgrace. What have they achieved in the last three years? I'll tell you what's been achieved.

First we had the sports rorts, where the government sent money to seats it was hoping to win. Community safety rorts, where peter Dutton personally approved projects in his own electorate. Then, on top of everything else, the Prime Minister somehow found a way to rort car parks, and also found time to gut the independent watchdog.

As if that's not enough, we wtill need answers to three big questions: Why is Richard Cobeck still in the cabinet?! THis is a man who skipped a Seante inquiry to go to the cricket! Why is Alan Tudge still into the cabinet, and why was half a million dollars paid to Rachael Miller. Above all else, who paid Christian Porter's blind trust?

If you want to talk about Tory Sleaze here in Australia, look no further than the Morrison government.

Labor will introduce a National Integrity Commission with teeth by the end of the years, something the Prime Minister refuses to do. Labor will invest in our healthcare sector; modernising and upgrading emergency rooms and building more clinics and hospitals in rural areas. Labor will invest in a high-speed rail project between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Finally, Labor will pass a bill preventing foreign ownership of Australian water.

This is what Labor will do for Australia!

It's time!

Scott Morrison Interview with The Australian
Quote

Quote
Prime Minister, what’s been your greatest achievement of your time in office? If there was one thing that you wish you could have done differently, what would it be? Lastly, do you think that you’ve ended the instability in the Prime Minister’s Office and the constant leadership spills that had destabilized Australia in the last decade?

Scott Morrison Interview with The West Australian

Quote
Prime Minister, is Albo capable of being Prime Minister? With the economy in such a fragile position, how would your leadership of the nation differ from that of Labor? What do you say to those who suggest they may be tired of repeated Coalition Governments?

Green Party of Australia Schedule

The Schedule
Leader Adam Bandt and Deputy Leaders Larissa Waters and Nick McKim will speak in Kooyong along with candidates from Melbourne, where the platform of the Green Party of Australia shall be unveiled which will include costings, the party will also empathize how the party is a force which is clean and independent from interests to attract the votes of people who might otherwise not vote for the Green Party. In the following days following the announcement of the manifesto of the Green Party, Bandt will film ads and be interviewed everywhere to increase momentum, and on the 13th and the 18th, he will do a meet and greet in various parts of Sydney and a speech in the divisions of Grayndler and Sydney.

Quote from: Manifesto
A party on your side

Preamble
It is time for there to be a party on your side, a party that will fight for you. A party that will fight for your future in a time of environmental crisis and a party that is clean and not corrupt and a partyand will represent you. The Green Party of Australia is the party that will fight for a new government that will be on your side and the common sense policies in your manifesto illustrate why.

1. Tackling the climate crisis and conserving our planet

It is time for a government which will tackle the climate crisis, and if you vote Green, we will  ensure that a Green New Deal passes which will leave no person behind and will bring hundreds of thousands of jobs, help protect our towns and farms from fires, and will help lower energy prices, especially in a time like this.

2. A government that will fight for you

It is time for a government which will fight for you, and if you vote Green, we will ensure that people who are corrupt get the justice they deserve and we will increase tax on the rich and elite and lower your tax and we will ensure there are more local representatives which will make it easier for you to have a voice in Parliament.

3. A plan to help the working man

It is time for a government which will help the working man, and we pledge to expand Saturday and Sunday penalty rates and we will ensure that the average Australian can live in a home and we will develop a social housing program to do so and we will introduce a bank for farmers to help Australian farmers and we will incentivize more Australians to go into farming. A vote for the Green Party will also ensure a society where the average person can go to a good university if they do well and a society where the rich man has no advantages over the working man in schooling, and we will make Australia a society based on merit, not on one's upbringing.

4. A plan for our health and education

It is time for a government which will create an equal playing ground for all Australians, regardless of class, race, sexuality, gender, one's upbringing or their wealth, and we will expand Medicare to make it a better service for all Australians and invest into modernizing our schools and hospitals, and we will ensure that education and healthcare is a human right for all Australians for generations to come.

Scott Morrison Interview with The Australian

Quote

I would say our greatest achievement has been the economic recovery following the pandemic. Australia's economic recovery is one of the strongest in the world. We took proactive measures such as passing Jobkeeper, which saved thousands of Australian jobs, to help make this happen. I do wish that our vaccine rollout had been better. However, I will note that while it was initially slow, 83% of Australians are now fully vaccinated, which is one of the highest rates in the world. I do believe we are past the era of constant leadership spills. What our government has done is brought strong leadership to the office and we have delivered for the Australian people. I believe that goes a long way towards stabilizing the office of the Prime Minister of Australia.

Quote

I believe that the Opposition Leader is capable of being Prime Minister. However, that is not what this election is about, this election is about the future of Australia. On the note of the economy, my government presided over one of the strongest economic recoveries in the world. We cut taxes to help boost that recovery and we also took proactive action on measures like Jobkeeper. The issue with Labor is that we don't exactly know what their economic platform is. We know what economic stewardship looks like under my government, under Labor we simply don't know. To those who may be tired of Coalition governments or unhappy with our government, we concede that our government is imperfect, however this is not the time for change. Australia and the world are facing uncertain times. We can't risk the economic recovery that we have had following the pandemic and we need an experienced leader to deal with the crises abroad that we have seen develop recently. You know what you are getting with my government, you don't know what you're getting with Labor.

The Prime Minister wants to brag abut strong leadership?

Where was that strong leadership during the sports rorts? Or the community safety rorts? Or the car park rorts? Where was that strong leadership when Richard Colbeck decided to skip a Senate inquiry into aged care-his portfolio-to go the cricket? Where was that strong leadership during the bushfires?

A Labor government is pledged to honesty and transparaceny. we will introduce a National Integrity Commission before the year is out, while the Prime Minister refuses to introduce one, despite the fact he pledged one in 2019.

As far as our econmic platform goes, I guarantee it will not contribute to this mountain of debt that the Morrison government has got us into. We will strengthen Medicare and prevent its privatisation by stealth. We will invest in renewable energy and create hundreds and thousands of new jobs, and bringing trillions in revenue for Australia. Above all, we are committed to our review of the Jobseeker payment, and will adjust it to what is needed to maintain access to basic human rights-food, water and shelter.

If this government wants to talk about economic management, I'm more than up for that. We can talk about which party kept Australia out of the Great Recession. Let's also have a talk about the biggest national debt in our nation's history. I'm more than ready to discuss economic management Prime Minister. Just name a time and place

-Meet and-greet in Bass (3 CP)

-April 15
-Open camapign office in Swan (10 CP)

April 18

-Meet-and-greet in Lilley (3 CP)
-Meet-and-greet in Blair (3 CP)

April 21

-Meet-and-greet in Chisholm (3 CP)

April 22

-Meet-and-greet in Dobell (3 CP)

April 23

Summary: Much of the week will focus on hamemring Morrison over the scandals that have occurred in government over the least three years, particularly on the rorts and on the scandals regarding Richard Colbeck and Christian Porter's blind trust. Candidates in rural seats are instructed to focus on Labor's pledge to ban water ownership by foreign entities; this is a major problem in rural Australia, particularly a the federal government has sold off land and water to China.
