If the Democrats were smart, they'd have Bill Clinton and John Edwards talk A LOT, but then they would also muzzle Al Gore, Al Sharpton, Howard Dean, Ted Kennedy, Dennis Kucinich...and hide John Kerry in the closet for most of the week.

I doubt Gore, Sharpton, or Kucinich will have any prominent role. Kennedy and Dean probably deserve a speech, but nothing huge.

I agree though, Clinton and Edwards should talk a lot. Hopefully Edwards will be giving a Wednesday night speech. Smiley

Barack Obama, Mark Warner, Jennifer Granholm and Dick Gephardt should all speak.

John Edwards should speak and with a little luck will be giving the Wednesday night speech.

I think for the Left that Ted Kennedy (I expect that he might be the one nominating Kerry, and it makes sense) and Howard Dean (so long as he doesn't get carried away and starts calling Republicans and the DLC evil) and perhaps Al Gore should speak, in fact i think that Al Gore as the last nominee has to speak  (?)

Ben, those ideas make pratical sense, but I don't know if the party will follow them. Unlike the GOP this year, the Dems seem to be going with the "highlight raving to energize the radical base" strategy, which almost never works in this country.

Yeah you guys have done pretty much what i would have recommended your convention line up looks very good indeed, IMHO... hopefully we'll select the likes of Obama, Warner, Granholm and even Gephardt (kinda a "thank you" from the party) and Dean (for the base) for speaking spots the same with Richardson and perhaps Bayh and maybe Breaux (it would be ace if Breaux would be able to speak though, sadly i doubt he will be asked)... but from what we're hearing you guys look like having a far far better convention that us Sad

...for God's sake you'll have the three Republicans (McCain, Giuliani and Arnie) most liked and respected by moderates and independents and even Democrats being given prime speaking spots! while what have we been told to expect?!? Denis Kucinich given a "role" and Ted Kennedy! Sad

Shouldn't Jimmy Carter be given a role in the Dem convention?

Bump.
A more extensive Democratic lineup is now public.

Monday starts with Al Gore, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.
Tuesday shows Ted Kennedy as the most prominent.
Wednesday starts with Bill Richardson, ends with Edwards.
Thursday has Max Cleland introducing Kerry.

It now appears that the "role" of Kucinich and Sharpton will be that of "keeping their mouths shut."

Monday and Tuesday should be HYSTERICAL to watch. I'm surprised they didn't throw in Howard Dean scream somewhere on the schedule.

PLEASE let Kennedy speak.  PLEASE!!!  No one outside of Mass can stand that has-been.  It's time for him to retire.

Although, I hear Teddy will be offering the hourly Toast from the bar behind the convention stage.  hahaha

Howard Dean really should have a prominent speaking slot...he has a strong base of support and did a ton to rally Democrats in the past year.

Sharpton and Kucinich should not...they both only stayed in the race because of their big egos, neither came close to winning a single primary.

Also, the Dem speakers NEED to include Barack Obama...and Ken Salazar if he's a good speaker (I've never heard him).

Actually Kucinich received 30% in the Hawaii Presidential primary. I'd say that's pretty good for him but pretty sad that anyone would actually vote for him.

Hawaii was a caucus...and that's still not really close to winning.

For how squirrly that boy looks, I give Dennis a lot of credit.  He has stuck with his message, and has seen his campaign through to completion.

I still can't find a full schedule, although the AP said it had been released yesterday.

As a side note, Hillary's snubbing has not gone down smooth.

I personally believe that Dems have little to lose by letting her speak.  She has got to be more popular nationally than Ted Kennedy!  She could be used to criticize Bush on anti-terror spending in NY.

Well now it appears Obama will be the keynote speaker, I usually don't watch these things boring as they are, but I will be watching that night for sure.

Obama is our rising star for 2012! I really hope he becomes a national figure very quickly.
