I am happy to open this season's convention in Greensboro, NC.

As many of you have heard, I am now the Game Manager. Therefore, to avoid conflicts of interest, I am immediately resigning my leadership position in the party. Newly appointed senator Citizen Dr. MB is now the leader, and will direct this convention onwards.

Mr. Muaddib is a good man and by no means a radical. He has that false reputation for reasons I do not know. So, I would prefer a ticket of Muaddib/MB and I would vote for that ticket since Mr. MB has been President before but the ticket reversed would be a fine ticket also.

The by-laws of the Revolutionary Communist Party are to read as follows:

Revolutionary Communist Party by-laws

Article 1. Membership and Voting

1. All people who have been registered under "Revolutionary Communist Party" or any variation of, or under the past monikers of "Communist Party", "Liberal Party", or "Revolutionary Federalist Party", shall be considered full members of the Revolutionary Communist Party of Atlasia.

2. All registered members shall have the right to vote, propose amendments to the party platform and to the by-laws, and to participate in party caucuses and forums.

3. All votes shall be held using instant-runoff voting with all voters ranking the candidates from first to last preference if so desired.

Article 2. Conventions

1. Revolutionary Communist Party conventions shall start during the months preceding each Presidential election.

2. All Party Conventions shall be held online, and during the convention, party business shall be conducted.

3. In the first and second weeks of the convention, the party is open to endorsements of elections during the month of the convention. In the latter two weeks, the party will be open to endorsements in the month following the election, should there be an election. All Revolutionary Communist Party candidates are auto-endorsed

4. Throughout the entire convention, the party shall be open to by-law/platform changes.

5. In the final two weeks of the convention, there shall be nominations for party leadership, with there being a vote in the final week for the leadership.

Article 3. Leadership Structure

1. General Secretary
a. The official leader of the Revolutionary Communist Party
b. In charge of the convention
c. Officiates Party voting
d. Is in charge of negotiating with Other Parties
e. Is in charge of party strategy

2. Deputy General Secretary (2 slots)
a. Takes over the responsibilities of the General Secretary should they be absent for 72 hours, or be on a leave of absence.
b. Is in charge of party recruitment
c. Responsible for leading the party in NPC affairs

My interpretation here is that Crane meant “registered voters” to mean “voters registered under the Revolutionary Communist Party.”

Muaddib, CalamityBlue, WestMidlander, Pieman, Beesley, and anyone else, you are more than welcome to participate in and comment on the convention however ultimately voting on any issue will be left up to registered Party members only.

See the by-laws: “All registered members shall have the right to vote, propose amendments to the party platform and to the by-laws, and to participate in party caucuses and forums.”
