Not that any of these seats would be competitive but it is a sign of more Republican enthusiasm that they are more able to attract people to run hopeless races.

Subtracted SD Senate. A Dem, Brian L. Bengs,  was added to the state SOS website. Filing deadline was last week but they must still be processing paperwork.

In 2018, Republicans didn't contest around 30 seats. Democrats didn't contest 3. You're seeing a similarly opposite dynamic here.

Added CO-01, CO-02 as having no Republican candidate.  Have not seen an official list yet but am 99% sure. Will keep checking.

Quite the far cry from only winning her special election 52-48 four years ago.

Added AZ-09. No Democrats filed. Not sure if I missed it or it has changed from when the list first posted.

This makes sense. Out of curiousity, how many seats went uncontested by Democrats and how many by Republicans in 2020? I'd imagine the two numbers would be closer to each other then.

Utah Dems voted to not put forth their own candidate and to support Evan McMullen.

Added WI-06 where no Dem filed. There may also be no Dem in WI-08, there is one Dem pending but it does not look like they turned in the needed signatures. Will check back on that.

Subtracted CO-01 and CO-02 from having no Republicans running. I'm not sure of the process in Colorado but it appears a Republican was added late in each district.

Subtracted KS-01 and KS-04 from having no Dem candidate. Democrats were added to the SOS website sometime after filing deadline passed. I need to learn to wait and let the paperwork clear.

I don’t think UT-Sen should be included in this list. Purposefully voting not to endorse (with the express intent of backing an independent) =/= not having anybody running for you on the ballot.

Ds in UT know who their party wants them to vote for, so there is effectively a D in the ballot - just he is a Democrat In All But Legal Opinion (a DIABLO, if you would).

Trump only barely won FL-11 by double digits in 2020. Absolutely pathetic that the FL Dems couldn't even get a candidate there, but not surprising. Then again, Dems aren't contesting a damned Biden +6 district in the MD State House this year, so maybe I shouldn't be talking.

Added FL-05, FL-06, FL-18 as no Democrat running. A Democrat is on the ballot in FL-11.

Yeah, this would be like counting VT-Sen as having no Democrat in 2018.

Removed MA-07 as having no Republican. Added MA-04, NY-09, NY-15 as having no Republican.

MA finalized candidate list was different than an earlier one. Have not seen an official NY list yet so am going by what Green Papers and 538 have for now.
