In this timeline, Bryan won 1896 and is a decently popular President. He is now running for reelection against McKinley, who seeks a rematch.

I don't think McKinley would've been renominated. More likely Roosevelt takes over.

No idea who wins.

Part of the reason Roosevelt was even VP was the national GOP didn’t like him and thought that relegating him to that office was essentially a political death sentence, funny enough. No way he gets the nomination on his own in 1900.

President William Jennings Bryan (D-NE) / Fmr. Vice President Adlai Stevenson (D-IL) ✓
Fmr. Governor William McKinley (R-OH) / Fmr. Ambassador Robert Lincoln (R-IL)

Bimetallism is declared a success by the President as the economy recovers. The Spanish-American War still happens, though Bryan divides public opinion by pushing for soft power over the former Spanish colonies rather than annexation, and Republicans slam the Bryan administration for its restraint in the Treaty of Paris. Vice President Sewall dies two months before the election and Bryan is stuck with Stevenson as his running mate, who doesn't help too much against McKinley's Midwest strategy. Otherwise, he's popular enough to be reelected by a slightly bigger margin.
