I went in to election night thinking she was going to win.  I was panicking when the comey letter came out. It was when Trump was doing better than expected in the Rust Belt.

It was around 9:30 PM that night when the NYT's prediction needle suddenly indicated that Trump was on track to win. Later, it shifted further and further toward Trump's column, and the deal was essentially sealed when Wisconsin was called for Trump around midnight (something which not that many reputable political junkies thought would happen).

It was when Trump was pulling away in FL and how he did it.

The exurban areas around Tampa and Orlando are rapidly growing with Midwestern transplants, and the way Trump won these places reflect what happened in MI, WI, and PA.  I was very surprised when John King on CNN showed that Trump was running far ahead in Pasco County (Obama lost in 2012 by 6 points, Hillary lost by 21).  Even more dramatic was just north in Hernando County (Obama down by 7, Hillary down by 29).    They called FL fairly early that night, and I knew that the Democratic firewall in the Midwest was in trouble.

When Virginia took a while to call I thought Hillary might be in trouble.

I think it was when Kornacki said Lebanon County (in PA) was yet to report its ballots in.

On election day itself I thought she would win, the last week and a half I thought she would lose.
On election day it was during the 9:00 hour.
After the second Comey letter, I knew she was done. Worst Birthday present ever.
After Deplorable and her fainting spell, I knew it was bad.

Strangely, during the summer of 2016, heard about how bad the opioid epidemic was, did I really start to think she would lose. There was just something about that.

Another moment was when Trump said in June 2016 something along the lines of, "Things we're good when the Clintons were in charge, but boy they got out in time before they got bad."

I always knew she could lose and he could win. I thought in most cases Hillary 2016 would end up like Obama 2012.

I believe it was when the Rust Belt states proved to be much closer than the polls had predicted, and Florida was projected for Trump. I remember watching the coverage of that Election Night, and seeing Clinton supporters at her campaign headquarters in New York crying and acting despondent.

I was an optimist. I was one of the first to realize this.

Between the 9 PM to 10 PM EST hours, when the rust belt states weren't called yet and Trump was pulling ahead in Florida.

I went to bed shortly after midnight — Trump was up 244-209 and she was behind in Michigan and Wisconsin with Trump closing in on taking the lead in Pennsylvania.

Comey.

But on the actual day, when the reports talked of long lines in NC in the suburbs, but not so much in black precincts...that was sus.

But it was the absurd closeness of New Hampshire and Wisconsin, both of which I wrote off into Trump's column as a win. Still very surprised NH held out for her.

When the returns from exurban Florida started coming in. The Michigan exit poll showing Trump tied sealed it.

Trump breaking through in WI.  Until that point, the Blue Wall was still up and had she salvaged MI, WI and PA, she still wins. Once Trump broke through up there, it was done.

When Trump pulled away Florida and Ohio with Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania not only not called, but super close is when I knew Hillary pretty much lost the rust belt and, with it, the election.

When PA and WI were called for Trump I knew it, when FL was called I realized something was up.

When PA went for Trump it literally took him over 270.  When he ran ahead of Romney and Bush until CA closed it was an early sign. At 8:00 when MO was called for Trump, but CT and RI were too close to call, I started to think Trump was in it til the end or could pull an upset.  For a half-hour or so after CO and VA were called for Clinton I lost a little bit of confidence knowing PA or WI would have to go for Trump was seemed hard to conceive after losing VA and CO.  Knowing what we know now about the trends it all lines up.

I remember the exact moment, I saw that WI had been called for Johnson and looked and saw that Trump was still leading there.
