Kevin Spacey alias Frank Underwood actually jumps into the 2016 presidential race and upsets Hillary for the Democratic nomination. How do you think Kevin Spacey would have done against Trump? Remember this is before he was MeTooed.

Anthony Rapp would probably come forward sooner, and it's hard to see how Democrats could spin that to the more conscionable of their voters. Moreover, two celebrity candidates negates some powerful arguments against a Trump presidency on the Democrats' part. Hard to see Spacey getting nominated in the first place, really, not sure what he would offer that Clinton and Sanders didn't.

Charisma and a fighter mentality. But are even more important than political platforms.

Not particularly. This seems like an overreaction to Trump's narrow win in 2016, which was due to his platform as much as his style. But if that's important to you, Sanders had something of a fighter reputation.
