I used to be a "no" on this question, but after Putin's unhinged speech the other night where it's clear he believes he has the right to annex by force all former Soviet territories......I dunno anymore.

It's more clear than ever he won't stop with Ukraine. He's already taken over Belarus without firing a shot due to their cowardly, puppet leader. If the rest of the world let's him take Ukraine, next it's Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia. He won't care that they are members of NATO. He's already labeled NATO a threat and made the mere possibility of Ukraine joining NATO into an excuse to invade them. After subduing Belarus and Ukraine he will have those three tiny nations surrounded. He could take them over so quickly it might not even matter if all other NATO countries make clear it means certain war if he invades.

After watching how quickly Turkey (and Russia) and the Taliban filled in after a tiny amount of US forces left much of northeast Syria and Afghanistan respectively, I've come to the conclusion that US (and other NATO) troops simply being somewhere are almost as good of an invasion deterrent as nukes. So, yes, I think it'd be reasonable for both the US and its allies to send a small contingent of forces in a non-combat role to Kiev and maybe some other places to deter both Russian seizure of territory and things like indiscriminate shelling and air strikes. Furthermore, if I were Biden, I'd personally travel to eastern Ukraine and tour the frontlines with Zelensky. If nothing else, it'd sure put a stop to the shelling for at least a day.

Thankfully for our troops, and you, Biden isn’t dumb enough to take the advice of a bunch of chickenhawks.

We obviously had no business when Germany invaded Poland. We'll also have no business when China takes Taiwan.

Lol Biden has to go before Congress to get a troop commitment he only has the authority on Iraq and Afghanistan only Congress can declare War, Biden cannot commit troops on his own account War Powers Act this is like the third time I am telling the OP this, and Congress isn't committing troops against Russia we am would get crushed by an air or  ground war against Russia and it's doubtful that many of our NATO ALLIES WOULD HELP THEY ARE SCARED OF RUSSIA

The only reason why we beat Serbia in Kosovo no Russian military to support Serbia they would now, Boris Yeltsin was in office back then

If we had let them in NATO this wouldn't be playing out now, Ukraine would still be whole.

No, and franklin I'm getting tired of the war fetishists trying to act like every invasion is literally the next Hitler and that it's entirely on our soldiers to stop, when we can't even run our own country properly.

While I don't think Putin is exactly the next Hitler, he's been plagiarizing Hitler's playbook pretty heavily in recent weeks.

Any world leader who thinks the status quo is rigged against them might run the risk of plagiarizing Hitler's playbook, no matter how justified or unjustified they were in their actions.
EDIT: I assume you are referring only to Hitler's challenging the Versailles Treaty.

I'm already very tired of this new republican talking point to justify being against any type of action on the international stage. When do you and the rest who use this worthless platitude think that we started running our own country so improperly to the point we exclude ourselves from foreign affairs exactly? Is it just now that Biden is president? Or did it start when trump was president? Or Obama? Bush Jr? Truly interested to hear when this started being the case in the minds of those who say it.

Also, does this logic apply to Russia? It's among the most corrupt nations on Earth, it's population is shrinking, their population has no free speech or freedom of assembly protections, it poisons it's own citizens with nerve agents, and it's leaders jail innocent candidates who challenge the entrenched ruling party with bogus charges.

We already all know the answer. Nothing is ever the fault of Republicans, and those same Republicans are more critical of how Biden leaves a press conference or what color suit Obama wore, than they are about a dictator launching an aggressive war or their own party leader cheering him on.
