After being elected POTUS in a surprise win in 2012 over incumbent Obama, Romney decides to move back to Utah from Massachusetts to register to be a Utah voter for the 2016 elections.

Former President Barack Obama successfully wins the Democratic nomination for the third time trying to win back the Presidency he narrowly lost.

I imagine 2012 would've looked something like this:

Fmr. Gov. Mitt Romney / Rep. Paul Ryan (Republican): 275 EV
President Barack Obama / Vice President Joe Biden (Democratic): 263

Given Economic trends, Incumbency advantage, and demographic/state trends, my guess is 2016 in this Obama vs. Incumbent Romney looks something like this:

President Mitt Romney / Vice President Paul Ryan (Republican): 296 EV
Fmr. President Barack Obama / Senator Tim Kaine (Democratic): 242 EV

Romney probably wins re-election if the timeline plays out mostly the same as our own timeline between 2012-2016.

If that happens Obama would just end his political career or become Chief Justice in the next 10 years
