I do not support this, if we are to provide for a government-provided healthcare plan through a public option, I believe said plan should include funding for reproductive healthcare as well. Anything else is inconsistent.

I intend to support this legislation. I believe, and feel that it’s quite a reasonable policy, that abortions, and medically unnecessary ones above all else, should not be funded federally.

I would support Deadprez's practical motivation of finding a compromise here, but I am unsure that greater support is obtained via the text proposed, and certainly the presentation doesn't well lend itself to that objective either. Tongue

I do support the underlying bill though.
