Rudy was an ass long before joining Team Trump. All the America's Mayor crap was just good marketing. Rudy hurt the response to 9/11 more than he helped.

He has no personal capital left. He had a blue chip reputation and completely shredded it over the course of a few years.

This is like when a once-famous actor blows their fortune, tanks their career due to bad publicity or choices of roles, and is reduced to doing appearances on infomercials or at low-tier conventions to pay the bills.
