Not really. Progressive fanatics don’t get a free pass simply because they are progressive. Keeping a watchful eye for the fringe trying to find a gateway into the system is perfectly reasonable. In the UK alone, there was Militant Tendency in the eighties and Corbyn’s Ten Pound Trots more recently.
