Trump wins reelection in 2020 with AZ, GA, WI flipping from IRL, but Democrats still gain the Senate and hold the House (same results as IRL).

In 2022 Democrats gain 50 seats in the House and gain 6 seats in the Senate (WI, PA, OH, MO, NC and FL)
Senate balance: 56-44 D
House balance: 272-163 D

In 2024 Democratic ticket of Sherrod Brown/Stacey Abrams wins in a landslide, Democrats gain two seats in the Senate (FL, TX) and 10 seats in the House
Senate balance; 58-42 D
House balance: 282-153 D

I would easily agree to this

The Senate would be Republican-held if it were 50-50 and Trump were president, but yes, in an instant, especially since this suggests that Democrats may have finally tried something different.

Yes. Without a trifecta it's safe to assume that Trump doesn't pass much (Not like he did when he had one anyway)

Nope. If Trump being president for even 2 weeks between 1/06 and 1/20, to the point of supporting impeachment/invoking the 25th, then I don’t see how Trump should be president for 4 whole years more.

If I was a partisan Republican, no.
Since GOP < Democrats, yes.

Probably, for as much as I love Uncle Joe. Though a midterm defeat may very well happen in 2026 then, instead of 2022. But maybe larger majorities in 2025 can actually get big stuff done.

Nonetheless, as much as I like Sherrod Brown, I'd prefer Gretchen Whitmer or Kathy Hochul then, with Cory Booker or Raphael Warnock as vice president.

No, no deals.

Trump must always be defeated, no matter the cost.

Clearly not.  Once it was clear Trump had lost in 2020 the early morning after election night I was bummed out for a few min but realized that with GOP overperformance in the Senate the result of 2020 would block Dem trifecta for 8 years and perhaps longer.  That really got my spirit up.  That came crashing down when the Dems won both GA Senate seats and I was bummed out again.  But a year later I would say the way things developed in 2020 with losing the 2 GA senate seats was the best possible outcome given the circumstances especially now there is some hope of a return of Trump in 2024.  And even then I would trade in Trump not winning in 2024 if that adds 10 more years on delaying another Dem trifecta.

Yes.

It's pretty clear Dems only do responsible and useful things if they have a dagger of Damocles on their heads.

Trump being lame-ducked would give Congress far more mileage to actually do things because the base would still pay attention.
