1.) My grandmother was close friends with the founder of a fairly well-known chain of private schools in India.
2.) I once contacted my representative after I learned through the forum he was involved in some shady stuff, and asked him about it. He didn't reply.
3.) I've never set foot in (or even drove through) Idaho, Colorado or New Mexico.

the 2?

Yeah, though I did consider writing him before deciding against it and then moving out of the district.

Another one since there are no currently unguessed two truths and one lie:

1.) I've lived in Chicago before.
2.) I've been to NYC.
3.) I've lived in Mumbai before.

Well, when you quote you can see the spoiler though I would have guessed 1.

1) Michelle Bachelet (ex-president of Chile) once sent me a letter
2) IRL I'm named after famous left-wing Chileans.
3) I can speak Mapuzungún

Oh, well my mistake. Thanks for guessing anyway.
I guess your lie is probably number 1.

The lie is 3. Bachelet did answer a letter I sent her and I used that to enter to one of his public acts.

Oh, that's quite interesting. Did she herself write it, or did one of her secretaries/advisors? I mean, either way it's pretty cool, but it would be especially impressive if she actually replied to your correspondance herself.

I'm not really sure but I think she wrote it herself, it had typos and it felt like something she would say. In any case, it was signed and they sent me a physical and a digital copy.

Another one since there are no currently unguessed two truths and one lie:

1.) I've lived in Chicago before.
2.) I've been to NYC.
3.) I've lived in Mumbai before.

Mmm, 2 is the lie?

Not to be rude - you seem like a nice person and poster - that's probably a little naive (no offense). If someone else wrote the letter for her, they would also probably try to make it sound like something she'd say; it doesn't necessarily mean that she actually wrote it herself.

Nah, I had sent other letters and those were pretty transparently answered by secretaries jajaja. Also, now that I recall, her secretary did call me to tell me she read it and was going to answer me, the other time I did it they didn't bother to do that.

Another one:

1) I was a member of the Communist Party
2) I have had a pinochetist friend.
3) I once went to the hospital due to hypothermia

That's pretty impessive, then. Anyway...here I'll say number 3 is the lie.

1.) I've never lived in a US county that gave Joe Biden under 70% of the vote.
2.) I've lived in Sonoma County, CA.
3.) I've lived in Alameda County, CA.

1. I once had a poem I wrote published
2. I’ve technically had a girlfriend before
3. I’ve been in a voice chat with a well-known YouTuber

I'll say number 1 is the lie, though I'm very unsure and it could be any of them.

(For me, do this one:

1.) The only politician I've ever seen in person is Andrew Yang
2.) I was apolitical until 2019 or so (had no clue about politics, literally, except for 'Orange Man Bad' and a few other things in that vein, though I was history buff)
3.) I've lived in Southern India for more than 3 years altogether.

Spoiler alert! Click Show to show the content.

)
2 is the lie. We were friends in middle school and my freshman year of high school and would joke about being together, but never actually were.

As for 1, when I was in 4th grade, my state did a poetry contest for elementary school students. Mine was one of the poems selected. And for 3, a couple friends of mine run a channel called Level Up For Charity. They play video games to raise money on behalf of various charities, including the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, their local children’s hospital, and others. They did an event in the spring of 2021 in a collaboration with a handful of well-known gaming YouTubers, including ProtonJon (1/3 of the Runaway Guys) and SlimKirby. I was with them in the voice chat in the Discord after the event.

I'm going to guess you haven't been to LA.

1) One of my great-uncles was on the first leg of DB Cooper's flight (the Portland to Seattle stretch)
2) I wrote a story for English class in the mid-2000s where there was a President Trump in the far-off future.
3) My family was once held at gunpoint by police on suspicion of my dad being involved in a terrorist bombing in France. (He was not, obviously.)

2 the lie?

As for yours, I think 2 or 3 is probably the lie. I would say...number 2 is the lie, actually, because 3 is probably possible, but 2 just seems too nutso (considering that back in the mid 2000s Trump was barely associated with politics, and Trump isn't a very common surname).

#1 was the lie. Here's proof for #2. Now that I look at it, I might not have used the exact wording "President Trump," but he was supposed to be a sort of God-Emperor President McBusiness type:

This was for our class writing project in 5th grade and everyone in our class had their stories compiled in a book that we all got to keep, hence why I still have it and remember it. I'm pretty sure it was 2005, and you can see it was inspired by The Apprentice.

#3 happened when I was too young to remember clearly, but according to my parents, when we went to France in 1996, we spent a night in Bordeaux before heading out to the Basque Country. Right before we left, then-PM Alain Juppé's office in Bordeaux was bombed. My dad apparently matched the suspect's description to a T, and since we had only spent one night and were driving a rental car, we must have checked off a couple more boxes of who they were looking for.

1. I once narrowly missed meeting Barack Obama when he attended an event held at my church

2. I've moderated a virtual forum between editorial cartoonists in Asia

3. I met then-Chief Executive Donald Tsang when he visited my primary school

I'm gonna say 1 is the lie, you actually met him.

I'll say numero dos.

Both wrong, as it happens! On two counts – I've never seen Mr. Sleaze in person, and as some Atlasians know, I never had primary schooling.

There are no more 2 truths and 1 lies unanswered except one from me, so here it is:

1.) I've never lived in a US county that gave Joe Biden under 70% of the vote.
2.) I've lived in Sonoma County, CA.
3.) I've lived in Alameda County, CA.

Admittedly it's one of the more boring ones, but still.

I'll offer mine:

1. I have met the nephew of a former President of the Council [Italian head of government].
2. I own a postcard signed by a famous Italian comedian.
3. I once saw a bull pee while on a school trip.

Number 1?

1. I drive a BMW.
2. I have Young Kim’s phone number.
3. Literally over half of my extended family is Mormon, in-spite of me being an Evangelical Christian.

Pretty sure number 3 is true but not sure if 1 or 2 is the lie. I'll go with 2 being the lie.

I met her during her 2018 campaign and again last year. She’s a wonderful person, and she gave me and a bunch of other staffers her phone number. Pretty cool experience!

Incorrect - the lie is actually number 2.
